- The Ford GPW and Willys MB played a powerful role in increasing the efficiency and mobility of the US Army, adopting distinctive features, some recognizable even today, that would continue to influence the design and silhouette of the modern “sport utility vehicle”. Soon to become the ubiquitous, world-famous jeep, the Willys MB and Ford GPW models were very effective on the ground, with many standardized features such as 6.00x16 tires, 60 honest horsepower at 4,000 rpm, a gasoline can bracket on the left rear, provision for trailer lights, spark interference suppression, a blackout light system, twin top bows and sealed spring shackles.During World War II, Ford produced some 280,000 of these vehicles.

Nice video brother ....keep growing ...just want to ask one question if it's a 44 then the body should be ACM2, why there is a rectangular indent on tool box,ford bodies used on gpws till Oct or by Dec43 , even they have used ACM1 till Dec 43 and from Jan 44 onwards ACM2 was introduced on both willys and gpws ...So the as per me it's a mix jeep bug awesome piece of history ....try to get good repro Dataplates ...keep growing 🥰😇

According to history, USA needs a very strong and small and quick and easy handling vehicle for ever purpose and general purpose for ww world war usa government give license for Bantom company to build jeep but bantom company they failed to produce in large numbers then . USA government give license to willy's overland company to build a jeep, willy's produced First WILLY'S MB, and ford company also gets a license to produce jeep, FORD produced FORD GPW .
