@@therealivydawg eBay was not sold out when I looked and found mine. Create a search alert so you know when someone puts another one up.
Shame they didn’t make the cape removable by using the amulet Eye of Agamatto as the plug and a plug in the back. That way you can remove the cape and plug the amulet back in. Oh well. Good looking figure.
The blue head is NOT a Mask. Its his actual face. He had to alter his actual appearance, not to hide his identity, but to be able to return to our dimension, because the sorcerer ASMODEUS had taken Strange's appearance in order to fool the Ancient One and gain access to the Book of the Vishanti.
Because no two identical instances of the same person would be able to exist in our reality, Strange had to alter his very appearance.
As he says: "Many are the forms and faces of the man called...Doctor Strange!"
He continued to use the blue appearance because, after drawing too much attention to himself during a battle with NIGHTMARE in Times Square at midnight on New Year's Eve, he saved ETERNITY who then granted Strange anonymity by making the world forget his name, and at the same time giving Doc a new identity of Stephen SANDERS.
When Doc quit magic (after a sacrificial adventure in Hulk #126) he returned to medicine, as a consultant, but MORDO tried to usurp his position, and fooled Wong, by hiding behind a blue MASK.
Doc had to re-dedicate himself to magic in order to defeat Mordo, and then resumed his duties, but without the blue persona (Marvel Feature #1 - back-up story "The Return".[
The old gummy legs will be my biggest problem with him. Hopefully they give us a pinless legged with removable cape in a retro package. Thanks for the head swaps
That’s about the only problem with this figure. The cape is more of a preference thing I don’t mind it but it does hinder certain poses though.
Old Grummy Legs is a big Villan in the Marvel Universe you have to watch out for him 👀

Thanks for the review. I preorder two to surgically remove the cape and wait for a custom cloth cape. I'm also going to try switch out the hair pieces with the two heads
I wish you luck my friend as that won’t be an easy task, but I have no doubts it will look killer with a soft goods cape I would very much like to see what you end up with 👌🏻

Ordered for delivery. This will be the last Dr. Strange I need, as I have 3 Marvel Earth displays and this will be my 3rd Dr. Strange. All 3 are different versions, this one, MCU, and What If? version, as all 3 Earths are different.
Ohh nice, like an idiot I forgot to do a comparison with the What If Dr Strange, but I obviously like this one better
For a plastic cape this looks like the best we've gotten. My complaint with them is that they often limit the posing for the figure, they're back heavy, and often they don't attach right. But this one is great!
Yeh I genuinely think this looks great for a plastic cape & there are definitely advantages of it being glued into position, I think it looks great on display 👌🏻
It's the exact same cape from the previous two Hasbro comic Dr. Strange figures.
Oh interesting, maybe as his one is glued in it just sits & looks bette on the figure

They had it up for preorder for a couple of days at least. If somebody wanted it they could’ve gotten it easily.

@@cmbrock1 Yeah man I think it’s about just getting on it right away tbh and not waiting to long. I didn’t initially pre order it but I kept checkin the website the last two weeks and was able to score a pre order from them.

I will get this Dr Strange as soon as possible. Steve Ditco had the magic spots and Jack Kirby had the Kirby Kracel. After this we need a Clea figure.

I really like this Strange all around. Might even rival my Mezco classic Strange. He comes with everything you want and the cape looks good and glued. Happy new year to the Who Crew!
Thanks so much JC yeh it’s a great figure, I don’t have the Mezco so can’t compare but this is definitely the best Strange I have & the Who Crew say happy new year too 👌🏻
The weapon holding hand is still the wrong type of hinge, the emblem on his chest should be way lighter in color, the cape should be removable, the gummy and plain legs, and he’s a bit short in my opinion all at the low low price of 31 dollars. Yeah he’s gonna be a pass for me. Not a bad figure at all and if he was the normal price point I’d probably not be as picky but he’s not worth the money in my eyes. (Although I will give them credit for not using the same bubble effects and instead the ones that make more sense for him.)

"meditation" head sculpt can also double for a knocked out Dr Strange. Blue mask was Marvel trying to make Strange look like Spawn back in the 90s.

This figure really looks like a homerun. I might even use one of these heads on the Hulkbuster wave modern Strange and have both on display at the same time. Thanks for the review, Dan!

@@DanWhoReviews You shouldn't have to look past it. Classic Strange has been done in the past and it was correct, with a removable cape. They only did this to get people to buy it out of fear they won't do the correct version down the road....which they're gonna do.

Does anyone know if the head from the MCU No Way Home Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) works on this figure's body/neck articulation?
Kinda wish it came with maybe a extra head where he’s in fighting poses or maybe a screaming type head or something idk, but overall can’t wait for mine to come in March 5th via Walmart, but thanks for the review 🙏 keep ‘em coming Dan! Love ur content

Excited for this, but the toy biz legends version still holds up strong.
Not really. Cape is too huge and the scale is small by today's 6' scale standards. 95% of Hasbro Marvel legends figures blow away their Toybiz counterparts. Dr Strange is no exception.
I don’t really like the Toy Biz style fits in a modern display, great for the time but out dated now 🤐
Well I say you say just my opinion, got the new one on preorder fingers crossed with Walmart, they seem to get the best exclusives in the US, but I never see them in any stores in my state.
Stellar review, as soon as you said "could be dead" I started cackling. Just read issue one of DoDS the other day, man that cracked me up.
Looks good Dan. Can't wait to get this guy. Hopefully all goes smooth with Walmart.
The head sculpts look way better than I thought they would when they announced this.
For anyone wanting to unplug the cloak I imagine heating it up should do the trick.
