Proof-texting sure is fun, isn't it. You missed this part. "30 FOR IF I WILL, saith the Lord of Hosts, RAISE UP SEED UNTO ME, I WILL COMMAND MY PEOPLE; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things." (meaning 1 wife) The way polygamists read this verse is that God has commanded the polygamists to practice polygamy, but the rest of us monogamists "shall hearken unto these things." (I'm guessing you don't know how polygamists interpret this because you're not a polygamist. Don't shoot the messenger; I'm just telling you a 2nd interpretation. I am NOT asking you to start interpreting it that way, just explaining it to you.)
@@GospelTangents Yes , I agree all these late sources seem to be making things up. I like how some historians are making that clearer. It is a different history if you get rid of the recollections. I'm not part of Denver Snuffer fellowship, but he is the first one that I heard (I believe that was here on this program) to use only contemporary history or writings during Joseph's lifetime.
How I wish this heart-breaking lifestyle never started. Why are all the angels of the restoration named, but the polygamy angel is nameless? This is contrary to the order of the Lord during the restoration. Why did Joseph lament to Whitney Clayton six weeks before his death that he feared he had been deceived and that this practice would destroy the Lord’s church. I honestly can’t understand why anyone would believe God would command this. It hurts in so many ways, causes heartache and wars. It causes jealousy and lust. It doesn’t raise up righteous seed at any higher rate than monogamy does. Those poor people who had to endure it. May every sister find a one true love all her own in the eternities.

I hear you. There are many angels in both the Bible and restoration that are unnamed.
That's our tradition. Polygamy was the norm in ancient times and Hebrew culture.
