    Kelly, I loved it when you held your baby so close and treat him so warmly. You said you gave him an opportunity to feed a little more. You give him such love and care and I am so proud of you. You are also very pretty. thanx for showing other mothers how to communicate with, and love and nurture your child. Dinner time is quite usual as the witching hour for babies. When he goes through the 4-month sleep regression and developmental leap that will all change again because the infant sleep patterns are gone. During that infant deep sleep or awake, hungry and playing, the sleeps are usually pretty sound. Don't you love it at this phase where they can see you better and have become little chunky monkeys? It's cold getting out of the bath, when you were so nice and warm and wet getting all clean and relaxed. Zippered pajamas are so much quicker than the snap ones. And he seems so calm after you warned us he might not be, of course. Three hours is good this young, but dream feed him when he does awaken during the night, so he gets used to no stimulation: just mostly dark and quiet and no eye contact and feeding and back into the bassinet unless his diaper needs changing. It helps them learn nighttime and how it differs from naptime. It's better if he doesn't fall fully asleep in your arms, but rather in the crib. He can learn to self-soothe even at this age. Give him a pacifier or wait to see if he just falls back to sleep. That he awakened does not mean anything is wrong or that he requires attention. He will cry if he needs something because he's not quite old enough yet to manipulate the situation to his benefit. He is so cute and isn't it fun to get up to those baby morning smiles, stretches and yawns. So sweet.

      @I Love The Colour Pink Where is your scientific documentation for this statement? I have never heard this anywhere from anyone, either scientist, physician or parent. I do appreciate the offering in that it is something so totally different from what all research has shown, is showing, about infants/babies that it is worth having heard. But I would have to be able to read about it and study it to give it much credence. I have read about and experienced the other changes of babyhood, so trust science.

    • @philippapay4352
      @philippapay4352 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @I Love The Colour Pink Well, now I understand that there is only your anecdotal evidence from an individual experience based upon a premature child's habits.

    • @philippapay4352
      @philippapay4352 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @I Love The Colour Pink There are guidelines that science provides regarding expected development based upon evidence from research based upon millions of people. There is no judgment about right or wrong or good parent vs. bad parent. I did not use such terms. You did. I merely stated that your comments are anecdotal, so there is nothing for me to refer to in terms of factual evidence from research. I do not disbelieve your story. I do not discount your story. I cannot confirm it, though.

    Can someone explain me, y in foreign countries the babies are sleeping alone in a room, in india we don't do that, only after the boy or girl hit 8,9 years we make them to sleep alone, still now I didn't know the reason

    • @KellyonTelly
      @KellyonTelly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chickoo's Mommy That’s so interesting! It is a bit different here & each family does what ever feels best for them/their children. The recommendation by the American Academy of Pediatrics says it is safest to keep baby in their parents’ room until age 1, then they can go in their own room. A lot of families here aim for the 6 month mark. We chose 8 months, just to give everyone as much solid, uninterrupted sleep as possible. It’s worked great!

    Such an adorable baby and wonderful mom! He is a lucky little guy! I liked the fact--one of many--that you put socks on him and don't put mitts on his hands. But I was wondering, the swaddle looks too tight. His arms are folded in it and it's too snug. He can't move or stretch his arms. Won't it be uncomfortable for him? Why not swaddle him in a regular swaddle cloth? Besides, at three months, isn't the baby a bit too old for swaddling? Just asking.

    • @KellyonTelly
      @KellyonTelly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kala Dwarakanath Thank you so much! I’ve gotten a lot of questions (and concerns) about his swaddle, actually. I tried a ton of different ones and these were our absolute favorite. They’re the swaddles that come with the Snoo bassinet, actually (we just bought them separately). They’re stretchy and breathable and he slept so well with them. I can’t remember when, exactly, we stopped swaddling, but each baby is different and sleeps better different ways. This just worked for him ☺️

I find (obviously) the nights we bathe him he sleeps a lot better. But I know you’re not supposed to bathe them everyday due to drying out their skin so nights that I don’t bathe him I just let him swim around with this little floatie in a tub that I just bought for him! D a r l e n e So, I’m sure every baby is different, but one of the “treatments” I’ve read is just shampooing . We bathe daily & I haven’t noticed any additional drying since washing his hair more frequently (which we do every night since noticing the cradle cap and it is getting less noticeable daily). The coconut oil made the biggest difference, but it has to be a good brand (like Dr. Bronner’s) to be safe for skin. I only did it the first night because it smelled so weird, ha!

Overall we love having pets in the home with our baby (both my husband and I grew up with dogs as kids).
