Hello I'm From New Zealand. And all of my Dahlias have grown from broken off tubars.
As long as there’s a bud attached broken section will grow.
Some great info! Thanks 😊
Thank you so much 😊clear and simple

So glad I found your channel
Wonderful. Thank you
Aw thanks for the kind words! -Sean
VERY helpful, with some important detail that I didn't find in similar but "short and sweet" type videos. I opened a pack of 5 mixed dwarf dahlias, and there were some "added extras" as you showed, and I now know that they are no use to man nor beast (into the compost they go)! Some of them also have damaged and even slightly rotted roots, so I have cut all those bits off and trimmed the longer roots down.
Glad it was helpful to you. Martin
Very valuable info, thank you!!👏🏻❤️

This video was very helpful..thank you. I have three Dahlia plants which I purchased in Goa from the nursery in February. But this month it has plenty of buds but none of then have bloomed. And the leaves are drying and getting white lines. Although I have put fertilizer.
Best of luck, let us know how you get on! -Sean
Oh, I wished I'd watched this video Before I potted the Tubers in pots. However, it is mid May 2022 and hopefully there will be plant shoots growing from the old stem soon 😮. Wish me luck .
Sending you luck! - thanks for watching :) -Sean
Could you please provide a link to the tutorial where you show what to do when you transfer them out into the garden or into larger pots on the patio at 8:12 on the timeline. Thanks.

This was very helpful. Will you do another video when you come to take cuttings? I’ve not grown dahlias before. I’ve bought loads to try this year!
That's the plan, thanks for watching, if you subscribe TH-cam should keep you informed when we publish a video (usually Thursday evening just in time for the weekend!) -Sean
@@PotsTrowels spot the person who commented before the end of the video 🤣
:0) hope we remember now!!!
@@PotsTrowels I’ve found you on Instagram I’ll nag!!! I’ve bought a mixture of cheap and expensive ones to try and it would be great to get more value out of my plants.
Wonderful videos on daylias, however I was looking for tips on dahlias.
We’re going to be planting dahlia plants in the garden towards the end of May, which may help you.
I have packaged plants I bought in the spring and never planted. I live in new England USA. It is September. Can I do anything to save them for next year?
Hi, thanks for watching, I'll ask Martin for you, we could cover it in our next Q&A video, we do new videos every Thursday so subscribe and don't miss a thing! -Sean
Hi Mark, I've asked Martin, he says try taking them out of the packaging and look for signs of life. If you have green shoots put them into containers to try and keep them alive until spring - hope that helps and thanks again for watching! 🌱
The soil is Potting mix?
Yes it is a potting mix or potting compost as we call it in the UK.
you surprised me with new information. Now I'm alittle confused. the other videos on
Utube did it differently. like look carefully at the smaller pieces looking if any had eyes, that can grow. You just discard them.???
