Damn dude one realest videos I’ve seen as a fan of over 20 years. This is one of the most rollercoaster teams in professional team sport history. This video literally explains it… I can’t begin to explain how crazy it is all these years watching and just seeing them build and build too see them finally winning it all last year. Crazy feeling as a fan.

Danny Ainge drafted Jaylen Brown, which at this point is more than fair to say he was the best player out of that draft class... then traded the no. 1 overall pick the next year because he knew Tatum would still be available at 3. I wouldn't be surprised if Ainge had some kind of influence in Brad Stevens essentially replacing him too. He also assembled the Big 3 Celtics. Ainge deserves to be inducted into the HOF.

    • @ccramit
      @ccramit 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

That's what I'm saying. Not to mention all the strings he pulled to get those draft picks in the first place. Albeit, with a lot of help from the terrible Brooklyn GM.
He got the draft picks in place, wheeling and dealing those picks to get the players he wanted, maintained a good core roster throughout the process while those pieces developed, then kept those pieces in place long enough for 2024 to happen.
It wasn't just those two players, he was a great manager throughout the last decade that finally won Banner 18 while keeping this team a playoff team for most of that time as well. A lot of teams have had to blow up their entire roster, deal with being a losing team for years until they harnessed enough assets, and then make a push for the championship. Ainge was able to keep them a playoff team for all but one or 2 years. It' remarkable. Even huge franchises like the Lakers and Knicks have had to deal with consecutive bad seasons before they became playoff caliber again. I know he wasn't around for the last few years, but 2024 was a direct result of his work.

I am super biased but I feel like the celtics rebuild from 08 to now has got to be one of the best sports stories of all time, from the slow death of the old era team to the building of this one. From kyrie turning from our hero to a super villain, then beating him in the finals, and JT and JB being a direct result of the infamous nets trade. Even trading our basically mascot, marcus smart, for porzingis who happened to be the missing key to it all. It literally feels like a movie, and I am so happy to have followed the team every step of the way

As a Floridian from orlando, the magic being my hometeam, tatum has been my favorite player since his 2nd yr. Now its paolo, obviously have to support the hometeam. I remember celtics in the finals against the warriors a few yrs back. It felt as if i was the only person down here rooting for the celtics. And it stayed that way until the magic in paolo rookie season in 2022- 2023 beat celtic 3 out of 4 games. Gave you guys your first two home losses of the season in the same weekend. The second game Tatum missed to attend his son's birthday. That was the only time where i almost started rooted against the celtics in the tatum and brown era because of how much crap celtics fans were talking after that weekend. I had to remind myself it wasnt the players from the celtics talking noise but more so the fans. Anyways, congrats on the championship. Im glad orlando now has a dominant player like tatum in paolo banchero.

Loved watching a championship season as an actual adult...I was only like 12 years old in 2008.
Gotta say tho, honestly hindsight is always 20/20 sure, but we gonna be kooking back at the 2017 draft wondering how two streaky guards with broken mechanics went over a 6'9 versatile wing who's only weakness coming out of college was consistency from deep.
No disrespect to Fultz or Lonzo tho.....I'm just saying is all.
Also RIP to Philly fans. Blew every single draft pick after Embiid up until Maxey.
Took Jalik Okafor over Devin Booker and Porzingis even tho they had taken their franchise big the draft prior.
Took Ben Simmons (understandable at the time cuz he was far and away the consensus number 1 pick and was supposed to be a once in a generation franchise changer) over Jaylen Brown, Jamal Murray, Siakam, Ingram, Sabonis (not to mention Brogdon and Dejonte Murray)....took Fultz over Tatum, Mitchell, D. Fox, Markannen, or Bam.
Then proceeded to sign Tobias to arguably a top 3 worst contract this century over Butler.
In another universe they could've had Embiid, Butler, Booker, JB, and JT...or Embiid, Butler, Porzingis, Murray, and Fox...or.....well you get the point.
Idk how Philly fans are coping with their fumbled potential dynasty. I'd be on suicid3 watch😭

I remember a poll on Facebook where over 70% of people had the Celtics losing to the Mavs….. multiple post over and over… 70%. So I pondered and came up with this. Either people really don’t know basketball, or they hate the Celtics, and these 2 young stars.
    My conclusion is it’s both.
They literally destroyed the nba last year and they are still getting hate to this day for any and all reasons.
Last time a person who got this much hate who played in Boston was Tom Brady. So if I were fans of another team, I’d probably not add fuel to the fire and just leave them boys alone. I can assure you, you don’t want that smoke.

@@alexandermendez4653 I agree. I was 12 when game 7 happened and I still remember it like it was yesterday. One thing this video overlooks (just cuz it was so long ago and not super relevant to the 2024 team) was just how much the Celtics were winning in game 7. They really had that game for about 3 and a half quarters

2023 game seven vs the heat Boston wins if Tatum doesn’t roll his ankle

I'm not 100% convinced but I think we can agree it would have been a better game overall. Celtics looked completely deflated after Tatum went down

Happy we dumped the ego driven players off to other teams like Grant and Smart, White and Jrue are not only better players but have no massive ego to deal with.

I liked Crawford but… I can’t really remember anything he did anymore than the rest of the filler roster on that 13-14 roster. I guess if there’s one thing I’ll admit I forgot about was there was a scuffle between the 2013 Celtics and that squad of absolute A-holes on the Knicks after game 5, and I think Crawford was in the middle of that. But idk if that’s super important to the story of banner 18 considering that team lost in game 6. I mostly just wanted the focus to be on how Pierce and KG went out with that 20-0 run at home

@@jonnyarruru You did a killer job telling the story and gathering all that. There really wasn't a 13-14 highlight from that era, outside of that Jeff Green buzzer 3 against Miami (which you included).
