- Leighton has a neck collar being aware he has a neck prone to injury. I have always been amazed how he hasn't been injured prior. Many are calling into question if Trent was playing dirty. The NFL typically will review plays that refs miss for legal reasons to both penalize and fine players for playing dirty ie illegal hits to the head, targeting, etc. I'm sure they have reviewed this and deemed it not excessive, blatant or dirty otherwise Williams would have been fined. Admittedly as a Niners fan I am biased in favor of Williams. I hate the Cowboys but I wish injury upon no one. Best to Leighton and his family.

Cry babies, there’s no way he purposely did that. His momentum was moving in that direction.
Mf you can get a concussion from this it’s not baby it’s a serious injury or life injury.

@nolancox4187 was just saying it wasn’t a dirty play…and everyone that is saying it was dirty are just cry babies who are upset the Cowboys lost…it was an unintentional, freak injury, a consequence of playing football. That is all.

Ok. It's a penalty. I can see that argument. Did he pay Micah to be there at that exact moment too? You think he made sure Vanderesch's neck had prior injuries too? You must be a Cowboys fan. This kind of play/penalty happens all the time wo being career ending. There are several variables at play that contributed to that. I feel for Leighton and wish injury upon no one. Williams was deemed not at fault by the league as well btw. He would have been penalized financially just for legal reasons alone if you were right.

I think it was pretty dirty because vander esch has gotten neck injuries over and over again and they used it to there advantage
Micah is the only one that could see vanderesh and do something in response and ran through his head. Trent had no way of knowing Micah was going to be coming around the corner like that. Explain how that could be intentional on Trent wo him having eyes on the sides and back of his head through his helmet. Smh, that could have happened to anyone it's not like he suplexed him on his neck. Also, why are the Cowboys letting Leighton play with a neck injury like that?
@justinsugay1149 Exactly what I thought when my brother sent me the story. I had to come to YT to find a footage that showed it from the beginning of the play. If that other players wasn't there coming around Trents corner, that would have been a tackle by Trent and not a pus. Cowboys should have never let Vander Esch play with that extensive list of neck injuries. He rolled the dice. I'm also pretty sure that if this happened to a player that didn't have such an extensive list of neck injuries esp requiring surgery, it would have not been a career ending outcome, just like it took 6 yrs to end Vanders NFL career even tho he had sustained neck injuries prior to his NFL career.

@@JimmyGwizz Bad moves happen on the field all the time Can cause a concussion or other serious injury. That's the risk in tackle football. The problem I saw with this play is that Trent was supposed to act like a driver of a vehicle and look both ways before attempting to tackle 🤷🏾♀️. I dont think it was extensive force on Trents end. I think thats the bigger issue to discuss. Normal plays in football can lead to abnormal results, so what should be done? Is there no way the helmet or shoulder pads can be revamped to help lessen head and neck injuries? It's 2024, the NFL needs to make some player safety investments.
