  • Sharing a Snippet Roll Tutorial today. Currently, I'm working on the Tea Soiree Digital Journal Kit from Calico Collage. I've been making elements for the Tea Soiree junk journal and I decided to make a snippet roll that will be used with the Tea Soiree journal kit. Using Calico Collage images printed on muslin and lots of scraps of fabric I share how to make a version of a Snippet Roll.

    Beautiful, Linda! This really spoke to my heart. I've been making snippet rolls for a while using fabric, buttons, old lace and sentiments stamped on muslin. I actually use both sudes and attach them to a spool. It's like making a journal that has a theme or story, just in a different format. My children love them, so I can't bear to take them apart and use for journals, but will leave them behind as a legacy. Thanks for always inspiring and for showing us the myriad ways one can be creative!!

    Oh LInda That is incredible !! I am so in love with that snippet you made!! oh my goodness gracious great balls of fire and ice !! LOL I am going to do one myself . :-) I have the freezer paper, but I need to get some muslin :-) I did a giant snippet on a huge piece of freezer paper once . I learned from Ronda Winstead. If your a follower of her channel she is amazing at the things she does :-) You know what, I am going to take apart that one, and sew it on my snippet :-) I'll post it in the group when I am done :-)

    This is wonderful, what a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing, really loving the sparkly bits! Now I am thinking up all kinds of ways to use this idea. I want to make a journal inspired purse =) and this would be an excellent strap idea!. The only other thing I do to print on fabric is tape the top of the paper and cloth, that seems to help it feed through to eliminate jamming =) Great video.

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Linda. :) You are most welcome. Once you make one you will see how easy it is to make. It does take time but it is really easy. That's a good way to print on fabric too. I will do that with small bits of paper and sticky notes to hold them in place. lol Thanks so much for watching.

    No one can sleep tonight or are you all just night owls? Linda, I love your version of a snippet roll......liked the fabric pictures and the many colors you used. I have mostly seen monochromatic colors with oodles of lace. No saying it is wrong but would love to use up some of my fabric scraps. Thanks for sharing. Enjoyed the JJ class in Springdale, Ar. Not quite done with min yet but will show you. Barbara

I'm so glad you were able to come to the workshop. we are working on more classes. One in May. :) And thank you for the goodies you gave me. I shared them in the FJJP group and everyone loved all the items. Loved the fabric, quilt piece and more you included. Thank you. Look forward to seeing the mini! Thank you for watching.

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Rebekah. You are most welcome. I use an InkJet Printer and I did have a couple jam, but was able to gently pull them out. I realized that my paper was curling and causing it to jam, so wait a day longer for those pieces to stay flat under a book or something. ;) Thank you for watching.

    You show me things that I cannot find. Amazon does not have that tulip paint in the glitter Dimond color.
    This has been my favorite snippet roll of all of them that I've seen. What I think sets it apart is all your zig zag stitching around the pieces you've added. And of course the glitter paint adds that special Sparkle. I liked the last journal you did but what drew me to it was wanting that snippet piece that you used for the closure. I know it was a lot of work but I would have just bought the snippet roll from you. I'm going to try and make one but I've got to find that Glitter paint. They have it in different colors but I really want the glitter diamond. I've still also not been able to find the precious metals tattered Angels glimmer mist. You have such good taste in things that companies run out of the supplies you like. 🖤

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Carrie, I think this is same color: tinyurl.com/y7fdwhjx on Amazon.
      Thank you. I really enjoyed making the snippet roll and the journal. lol I thought about making more of these, just have to figure out the cost to make one. lol Try the link I sent. and if you go directly to canvascorpbrands.com you can order the Precious Metals Glimmer Mists - shop.canvascorpbrands.com/products/precious-metal-glimmer-mist-2oz free shipping on orders of $10 or more.
      Thanks so much for your kind words. Thanks so much for watching.

    I haven't made any snippet rolls yet. Just recently learned about how crafters are going crazy about them. I want to try to make some for Christmas. I plan on making some really long ones to use as ribbons to decorate my Christmas tree with and or my mantle intertwined in some garland. Isn't that a cool idea?

    • @lindaisrael
      @lindaisrael  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Melody. depends on the printer. an Inkjet or wet ink application works. NO to a laser printer. My inkjet is an Epson that was under $200 and the ink is about $70. I figure if I break it, I can get a new one. This one is about 5 years old now. It is fun to print on fabric. Thank you for watching.

      Thank you so very much. I used to be a seamstress and had a lot of thread. It was a brown thread in my stash. I find that I like the look of a dark thread in the sewing machine. I use a lot of black these days. For years I used the large surger cone thread, and I'm still using that thread now. I have a lot of thread... LOL. Thanks for watching.
