2014 Passat SE w/roof, 1.8 EA888 w/ tiptronic trans bought new, 147,647 miles. ZERO SQUEAKS/RATTLES. VW mastertech from Poland does all but engine/cabin filter, or drivers window switch (SUPER COMMON) Get on Amazon for $26.00. For it yourself save $300. I use BG EPR,MOA,44K, the stuff works 42 mpg from NJ shore to Easton PA, cruise set to 58mph in slow lane. Best, most reliable car I've ever owned. Dude, beating on the trans intermittently isn't the best recipe for longevity. I'd get the fluid, screen and gasket changed by a competent tech that knows these cars if you buy
Only difference with mine is that it's a midnight blue exterior. Otherwise, same exact car. Some things about it annoy me (throttle and trans are jolty). But I still enjoy it. Really nice car. Awesome for commutes, and well insulated.
Important to note for anyone who's considering one of these, one of the fan motors can become abnormally loud (prompting replacement) and stupid stuff like wheel speed sensors and the clock spring can go bad. Generally, the car will treat you fairly and do what’s expected of it. I’d recommend getting one with the 1.8T (3rd gen engine specifically, 1st gens are terrible). If you want überfuel economy, the 2.0L TDI is the answer.
Windshield washer stalk. On the side of it there's a rocker, and you can switch between the different readouts that way. Bottom of the stalk has an “OK/RESET” button to respond to certain messages (speed warning for example) and to reset things like the trip memory and the fuel consumption. Lol you’ve probably figured all this out by now.
I bought one new in 2014 and still have it! Amazing car and so reliable.
want that car so bad it's looks like good car to buy I like how it's drives so smooth not jerked
Sharon Paroisse I got the 2015, solid car. Great gas mileage for such a big car.

Is it possible to install the on-board computer buttons in such a configuration, is there any other action required here to activate them?

It was filmed in Florida.
