Australian Cattle Dogs are very intelligent - the 10th most intelligent breed in the world. I can personally vouch for that too. I have two ACDs, and another dog who is half ACD. They're all incredibly intelligent. So I'm not surprised that Bone, in this fictional movie, is capable of coming up with the plans he does. The execution of the plans, yeah sure, doubt them. But the intelligence is there.

I grew up with a dog-version of Home Alone from 1999. It was called "Little Heroes". It came in a 4-film set including "Forest Warrior" / "Let's Ruin Dad's Day" / "Bigfoot" I'm not sure how easy this film would be to find outside of that specific release. For example "Let's Ruin Dad's Day" is also called "Coming Unglued" if google has any say in the matter. "Little Heroes" is too generic to search alone as a DVD, but paired with Let's Ruin Dad's Day brings up results. From my memory, Little Heroes is better than Bone Alone but only but like 0.2% (yes I am asking to please review Little Heroes)
I JUST realized how similar this actually is to Mouse Hunt. Both take place on Christmas, hunting down an animal causing chaos, exterminator/hunter even dressed the same, guy gets stuck in a tight spot (fireplace/laundry chute), bookcase/shelf falls on guy, etc. Though of course Mouse Hunt is actually good, and surprisingly has far better CG than this movie, even though it hasn’t aged terribly well.
10:58 there was a reverse scene in home alone and that looked real! Also, the cover of the video spooked me. I thought the same actors of Harry and Marv were in the movie.
