The farming mechanics work like this: a 1 block space all around the crop is taken into account, and the more hydrated plowed land around the crop, the faster it will grow. The saturation one is TOTALLY wrong. Bread restores 6 saturation while a cookie 0.4, on the other hand meat restores up to 16 (Cooked Mutton). Anyway I'd say that the most efficient food are Cooked Potatoes, since they restore 5 hunger points and 7.2 saturation points.
Yeah steak and pork chop are really good, but you can farm potatoes more easily and that's why I said that I think they are the most efficient food, but you're absolutely right, meat in general is the best type of food in minecraft if you don't want your hunger to deplete after 0.2 seconds.

Well 1 coal block smelts 80 blocks so it will be a waste for your 9 coal, instead if u want to smelt 32 blocks or less u can just use 4 coal. And coal.blocks are useful when u are smelting lots and lots of blocks

Me and my friend went on a diamond hunt in a realms world and had enough diamonds for full sets of diamond armor for the both of us in less than an hour. We didnt change any world settings as well, it was a pure vanilla world.

+Alex Thomas Ugly and inefficient? Garbage. Growing the same crop in rows is the most efficient way to grow crops. If you plant 2 other rows of a different crop beside it, it speeds up the growth even more. You could also leave those rows empty, but I prefer to fill them up to maximise efficiency.

+Hua En before you get all defensive and stuff, I've tested this out before and I see the most efficient way to farm is just a 9x9 area with water in the middle, as it can reach up to five blocks out, but only the 4 blocks are faster. Anything after that slows down growth speed. This is faster, you can grow more at a time, and I don't think it looks bad since there's not a giant mess of water, but that's just my opinion. I only use Coal blocks when i'm smelting more than 30 items...
Well 1 coal block smelts 80 blocks so it will be a waste for your 9 coal, instead if u want to smelt 32 blocks or less u can just use 4 coal. And coal.blocks are useful when u are smelting lots and lots of blocks

+BillyJoeStuff How is it more fun to cheat diamonds in? Its no fun to just get diamonds immediately. The fun is when you actually stop being a noob and spend a bit of effort in the game, and then having the feel of accomplishment when you find your first diamonds. Besides, diamonds arent that difficult to find. Me and my friend went on a diamond hunt in a realms world and had enough diamonds for full sets of diamond armor for the both of us in less than an hour. We didnt change any world settings as well, it was a pure vanilla world.
