When you forget your device password, It is advisable to reset the device to enable you login again to the device using the defsult password which 'admin".

When you reset an MTN device, the Device is back to its default settings. All the passwords are back to default. You can apply reset when you cannot remember your changed device password or even the wifi key.
Please Mr Elijah same thing happened to me I mistakenly press the reset, and it's back to default but my WiFi information is cleared on it I couldn't see the default password on it

What happens if your MiFi device refuses to power on after you switch it off, and then you plug it to charge but it doesn't show any sign of charging? Does that mean the device is damaged? I've only had this MiFi for few weeks now, it's not even up to a month and this is happening. What can I do to fix it?
Less than a month old and not working? If there is no physical damage, and a different charger does not power it, then call the attention of the Seller..
I hadn't even used mine up to 30 minutes.

When you do a reset and then change the password and can't get the password correctly to login. S good option is to do the reset again to return back to the original login password. Then go ahead and change the password again but this time , do it carefully so that you won't forget it. Thanks

Please try to connect with another device (such as phone or laptop) . It it connects then check for issue on the first device but if It still does not connect, then reset the MTN MIFI device and try again. If it still does not connect after doing the reset correctly, then take the MTN mifi to any MTN office for complain.

Do you have a VALID data? Try adding additional data and then browse.. other factors that may cause it..

When I press the MTN button it turns on for a millisecond and goes off again
Unless I put it on charge before the led stays on like it used to

Before you do a reset mifi ( not router) you MUST make sure that you have the default password. It is unfortunate that you don't have the default password again. My advice is that you visit any MTN Office for assistance..

If you still have the default key, that's great 👍. Simply do a reset and then login using the default password

That's why you need to copy the information and keep somewhere so that you can always have it even when it is removed.

Hi Jumoke, simply login to your Mifi device, go to Advance settings, click on SMS, select the messages to delete and click on the Delete option. That's all.

(3) enter the admin password to login

The solution to forgotten password (for MTN Mifi) is to do a reset when you have access to the default password ( the password written on the paper).. But when the default password is unknown, it is difficult.

Default password does not change. The default password for the website is = admin. The wifi password is written somewhere on the body of the mifi device and it is specific to that particular device unless you have changed it.

If the SIM is registered in your Dad's name, it remains unchanged even after the reset except you change the SIM inside with another SIM registered in your name.. Does the MiFi always need to be plugged in to use it? Mines does not come on when it not plugged in.
If yours have inbuilt battery ( some have inbuilt battery)then when it is charged, you can still use it when not plugged.

Turn off the Mifi device, then charge it while still turned off (make sure charger is working). Then turn it again. This is how I resolved mine when I has such issue.

Take these steps to connect the new MTN Mifi to your phone
1.. Turn on the Mifi and make sure you have data on it
2.. Turn on Mobile phone wifi
3.. Search for the MTN Mifi on the list of the available wifi
4.. Select it to connect to it
5.. Supply the password or Wifi key (The Wifi key is written on the body of the MTN Mifi
Click Ok or Connect when you are done.

If the mifi device is mf927 , then the only option is to seek help from the MTN Office nearest to you. But if you already know the WiFi key, you can simply reset the mifi and login with admin as password.. Thanks

If default password (factory set password) is faded and you cannot see it again, and you are having problem connecting, for an MTN Router, you can use LAN cable to connect and login . Then get the password. IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE TO SAVE THE PASSWORD SOMEWHERE WHILE IT IS STILL VISIBLE

Hi Isabella, please make sure there is data available on your MiFi device (check data balance) . If there is data on your MiFi, then use another working phone to connect and see if you can browse or have internet. If you have internet when you connect on another phone, then the problem is your phone. If you can connect but can't browse internet,then check the Mifi device.. please do try this steps and get back to me.
I have already done that with three different phones but it connects to the working phones but I can't access the Internet, the fault is from the mifi
@@isabellaamelia4177 can you help login to the Mifi device using 192.168.0.1 and then check the status and other indicator lights. Try adding additional data to the Mifi (between N200 and N500 worth of data ) and test internet service again to see if it will connect. Thanks
I can't do that because when I connect my phone to the mifi I can't use it to access the Internet where I will I put in the the number to log in, or can I do it with another connectivity??
@@isabellaamelia4177 you do not need internet to login to 192.168.0.1. As long as you are connected even if there is not data, just open you browser (chrome, internet explorer, Mozilla Firefox etc) and type 192.168.0.1 . Then supply the password and login. Even without logging in, you can still load small data (N200 to N500) and see if you can browse the internet

I've tried repeating the process by pressing the reset button again and again, but the lights don't go off.
And I can't even access the address (the admin page) to login because the MiFi can't be connected to.
And I don't know how to use a cable to connect it especially as the reset is refusing to finish.
