I think my favorite thing about Shu was that NPC that accompanied you throughout the story. Seriously, went from stuttering farmer to a novice soldier trying to impress a girl to a dad with his sons fighting beside him.
Shu was my favorite team in Dynasty Warriors. They could have easily been one of the strongest forces if Guan Yu didn't get ambush or Zhang Fei was betrayed and killed by his own troops... That's when you knew that Shu a force to be reckoned with. It took Wei and Wu to join forces to eliminate one guy by the name of Guan Yu.. Also if Liu Bei stayed focus and not be vengeful, they could have had a chance against Wei and Wu.
@@Riasonfire Even with Jing Province they weren't really any match for Wei, or Wu for that matter. Both had far superior officers at the helm and larger amounts of resources.
@@neat3655 I wouldn't say destroy per say, but Guan Yu was going to lose Jing one way or another. They simply didn't have the same quality of talent to hold it.
The deaths in this game truly made you feel upset about losing them. Zhuge Liang, Sima Yi, Cao Cao, Sun Ce and of course Guan Yu. I hope DW9 isn't a let down.
I have since this comment bought DW9 and have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying it. The frame rate is fine unless there’s a lot of troops on the screen but it’s rare and it happened in DW8 too so it doesn’t bother me. I love the open world, the only thing that I can’t say I like is probably the voice acting but that’s typically very cheesy in dynasty warriors games anyway. I’ve put around 20 hours into the game and I don’t see a problem with it. It’s not perfect but it’s not awful the way everyone is making it out to be.
DW9 is a good time killer, but it lacks the complexity and challenge of it's predecessors. I feel it had some good ideas but fell flat on execution. And on top of that, the voice acting kind of hurt the story.
Its inevitable because Xu Shu love hes Mother, Pang Tong death is also inevitable because without Pang Tong death Liu Bei dont have the motivation because losing a talented general is equal to losing Thousand of Mens
The games started to get really ham-fisted on the whole benevolence thing, but Shu remains my favorite team regardless. Zhuge Liang has been my number one favorite since I was in elementary school, even if historically he was more or less an average strategist and was more of a political and inventor kind of guy. Every time I play as a different group, I purposely fall for the traps anyways, just because it feels right! That being said, I just can't help but love the whole shebang. Wei having the hilarious story with the silk robe and the bow and arrow contest, Zhang Liao becoming the equivalent of the boogeymen to children in Wu, Zhou Tai's unstoppable loyalty to Sun Quan, it's all so GOOD!
There is deeper character connections in the cutscenes for DW7 than any other installations. DW6 just have individual character depths. I'd say 7 is dah best, since there are interactions.
207-Liu Shan born 208-Battle of Chang Ban 223-Liu Shan becomes Emperor He reigned for around 40 years, but you don't really see him in-game until 230-240. It'd probably seem less weird if the characters actually aged. Of course, he's technically the only character that does.
PSA to all you Steam Deck users: pre-rendered cutscenes DO NOT load on the system!!! Though I played through the game and really enjoyed it (thanks to a lot of "in-game engine" cutscenes), I missed some of the most important plot points do to the pre-rendered stuff not loading! Until I stumbled on these videos, I didn't even realize there were "ending cutscenes" to wrap up the story - let alone cutscenes during important historical missions! Please, please, PLEASE spread the word!
To think if guan yu wasn’t so caught up in glory during his final years and gave some of jing province to wu, then I truly believe that he would have made his way to Xuchang and defeat cao cao
I couldn't kill Cao Cao. Big mistake Guan Yu. Big mistake. Especially since the last thing Cao Cao did before dying was orchestrating the alliance with Wu for the battle of Fan Castle that killed Guan Yu
Lol every sequel has the exact same story, yeah I know it's based on Three Kingdoms and they are kinda bound by source material but they have so much they can cover plus the chance to embellish things as many authors have. The only thing they seem to embellish is for waifu purposes like adding fictional daughters of famous generals. DW is just FIFA for weebs, you buy the exact same game with updated graphics and new outfits. They just repeat the same events in each game lol.

Which is funny because in actual history, Shu was without question the weakest and never really stood a chance.

True, Wu would have destroyed Shu and claim the south for themselves if it wasn’t for the pressure from Wei

Zhang Jiao making sick burns on all the rulers
this one takes the cake though

Not really.
No it isn't.
watching this reminds me of modern alliance quests in wow, every other line is about how good and benevolent and morally superior they are
Shu was always My favorite
Amsome game ever, Liu bei and his team is my favorite.
If Shu Han kept Pang Tong, Xu Shu, Fa Zheng along side with Zhuge Liang the kingdom would've lasted longer.
liu bei is a definition from zero to hero
Shu for the win.
@Tyler Assady Yeah😀
we dont play shu for the win, but ordered by our heart.
wei for the win

Yeah but shu even worst tho
Besides his voice, Zhao Yun is awesome
Still cant believe xu shu who is my fav charater used to be have generic NPC design. 🤣
The cutscenes and the drama make DW7 to be a very good one, even if its gameplay problems it's still my favorite
All I remember is that after 28:11, its just pain
imagine if Xu Shu stay with Shu him Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong would have make shu united the country instead of Jin
Alternate universe maybe

Can anyone explain why Zhang Fei rips a fucking tree out the ground and launches it yet nobody bats and eye at it?
Cause, Zhang Fei.
10:57 where did Zhang fei get the wine and when Liu beis son grew up Zhao yun looks the same aka young
cuz he's the poster boy and most of if not all of the characters in DW series looks the same age thru out their whole life
