This sounds like a very similar experience to my mate's 1st time at a tech rave. And sort of mine at a rock and metal festival. Think these spaces open up people to be freer and more expressive, while others end up doing the darndest things as a consequence.

I do not envy you waiting in that line... it was nuts especially the first day, people were REALLY angry about how it went that first day.

Yeah sometimes it's a place where people who haven't socialized much, suddenly do... and then things like that happen

okay, these people are odd and weird, not to be mean but are all conventions like this? never been to one and after seeing this probably never will
I mean in a place where thousands to tens of thousand people gather, it's bound to have some weirdos in it
Most people are not like this, just, any big open conventions always attract some weirdos who mess it up for everyone else.
