  • This almost one hour long video was filmed at the Noppenbahner L-Gauge Meeting 2023 in Wörrstadt.
    The NLGM is a 2 day event for LEGO train builders across Europe, featuring lots of amazingly detailed LEGO scale model trains and layouts. Me and a few other members of the LLMTC where invited to attend again this year, and as usual, I brought my camera to capture all of the action.
    All of the crashes, derailments, breakdowns & other mishaps that happened during the event:

    A BIG collection of stars, there. The steams with tthose green carriages are a must. So L_GAUGE is now more or less focused on 1:48 scale. Very close to O-GAUGE.

    • @Tiesproductions
      @Tiesproductions  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the US L-Gauge is mostly focused on 1:48 scale, but here in the EU, almost all of the L-Gauge builders I know build in 1:45 scale. I think it has something to do with US trains typically being slightly larger than European ones, so a typical US train ends up at 8 studs wide in 1:48 scale, and European ones in 1:45 scale.

      Not sure exactly which loco you mean, but the blue loco pulling the hopper wagons was built by Enrico (www.flickr.com/photos/154406928@N06) and the red loco leaving the station with a passenger train was built by Nicolas (www.flickr.com/photos/125290784@N03/)

    Great video. Great trains 😍 Looks like big radius curves are done using straight tracks, rights? Are you considering to have wide curves from 3rd parties? Just curious.

    • @Tiesproductions
      @Tiesproductions  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For the really big radius curves we use straight tracks connected at a slight angle, but most of the curves and switches on this layout are from 3rd party manufacturers.

    Dude this train layout is insanely awesome. I wish there was a Lego Club in America just like it. How many bricks did it take you to build this?Also if this group came to America, I could run my Emerald Night with your club members coaches and do some double heading with some of the other steam engines.

    • @Tiesproductions
      @Tiesproductions  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea how many bricks in total, but I suspect it wil be in the ten thousands at least. Maybe even close to a hundred thousand

      @@jquarters1896 I know there are at least a few different LEGO train clubs in the US that travel to different train shows and setup a group layout together. But I'm not sure if I've ever seen an event like this in the US where multiple people and clubs get together and create one giant layout.

    Whoa, what a great layout, seems you all had much fun! One question, why is Támas' steam loco 3737 sooo strong and fast? I used an XL Motor and Buwizz for my Br52 steam loco too, but my loco is way less stronger and faster than Támas' one. Do you know where I can find some pictures of the gearbox of his locos? I didn't found anything on Flickr... I'm new here and that would be really helpful!
    Thanks! :)

    • @Tiesproductions
      @Tiesproductions  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe he uses a PF L motor geared 1:1 in the loco, and a train motor under the tender. Both powered by a BuWizz 2.0, usually set to ludicrous mode.

    • @tamasdegroot5767
      @tamasdegroot5767 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, my NS 3737 is indeed powered with an L motor in the firebox and a train motor underneath the tender that gets a bit less power to prevent wheelspin, the L motor is geared 1:1 on a really strong frame so it can handle a lot of power. Everything is powered with a Buwizz 2.0, the locomotive is equipped with test examples of the upcoming HA bricks wheels that provide a lot of grip wich results in the long train lengts it can pull

    • @RailBricks596

    I like the bridge that has 2 tracks at 46:46 how did you get it like that

    • @Tiesproductions
      @Tiesproductions  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe Thomas used some 3d printed track pieces at each end of the bridge to make the geometry work, the rest is built from regular LEGO pieces. The triangulated frame of technic beams underneath makes is strong enough that it can actually be used as a bridge between tables, without needing any extra support.
