Powerful presentation. I like the part where Christ says "I'll make you to become fishers of men".....state of becoming meant they had to grow, to change, and be transformed. Their mindsets had to be renewed and be attuned to the new mission ahead of them.

Yes, he is the most attractive being to follow. Blessed are those who follow by faith, without seeing Him.

Last sabbath, only MARK 1:1 was read in sabbath school at my local SDA church!!! DO SDA's fulfill MARK 8:38? Most SDA ("People of the book") have never read the whole bible or even the whole new testament ONCE in their whole life. Mark is 678 verses long and most of those verses will not even be read over 13 weeks in sabbath school classes. Members will discuss or argue topics instead. SO by the end of the quarter, even MARK will not be read! " Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down." Mark 7:13,,,,,

Your passion for ensuring that our church remains true to its identity as "People of the Book" is truly appreciated. But to expect Sabbath School members must be encouraged to read the Bible systematically at home, not in the Sabbath School. We do not meet on Sabbath to read the whole series of scriptures mentioned in the lesson. Each member must do that at home, every day, The actuallt presentation of the lesson should include discussions and debates that engage members actively and apply biblical principles to real-life situations. Members need to have their systematic Bible study plan. The Sabbath cannot be used as that plan. Balancing discussion with reading entire passages can enhance understanding and retention of biblical texts, and also the Sabbath School discussions. Please do this in your personal private studies so that you can enhance the quality of your Sabbath School study in the limited time its allocated.
To address your concerns constructively, I suggest that you get your church members to have a comprehensive reading plan for the entire books of the Bible over a specific period (i year). Encourage it as a personal initiative. Encourage members to engage in daily personal Bible study, which can complement the communal learning in Sabbath School. Perhaps the Sabbath School teachers in your church need to start by sessions that focus on reading and reflecting on larger portions of Scripture before diving into thematic discussions. Instead of sounding critical and cynical, I implore you to work together with your church to foster a deeper, more comprehensive engagement with the Scriptures. All the best in your Sabbath School lessons
      Elder Melusi
