  • This is one of those pieces that I went to the scrap pile for materials. Don't worry if you don't have exactly the same materials on hand. Cardboard works as well as chip board, and a round dowel will work as well as a piece of plastic tubing! (I kind of wish I had thought about the wood dowel earlier!)
Just take it one step at a time!

Love the modern take on the desk chair using pvc and wire arm rest supports. Gluing different materials can be problematic so finding just the ‘right’ glue is preferable to using super glue which tends to discolour things and hazardous to use. Thank you Penny for sharing your knowledge.

Thank you Coby! Finding the right glue can make or break a project. Since I typically use wood for furniture, the Gorilla wood glue is my favourite but when you need something a little extra for plastic/metal I highly recommend this new glue!

Two things I learned from this video: the triangle method of doing corners, brilliant. And making the groove for the chair arm to rest in, also brilliant. I hope your semi-recent trip to the US was both fun and successful.

Lori!! So nice to hear from you! Yes, my trip to Great Falls was a huge success. I was more than a little discouraged after checking out Joann’s, but I hit the mother load in Hobby Lobby and came home with a shopping cart full of wood and other supplies. Boy what I wouldn’t give to have a Hobby Lobby here in Calgary! 😆

Thank you! The chair was a bit of a challenge but I’m happy with how it turned out.😁
