I remember this kind of screen from long ago when tv stations weren't 24/7 😭
It will show a colour spectrum
I was born a long time ago in Communist Czechoslovakia and remember the very first picture on TV! Without Korean writing....😂
Well, CSSR was socialist, not communist. It's different like minarchism and anarcho-capitalism
…and all commercial-free! ❤
Who will pay to a commercial when everyone is poor?
The whole channel is a commercial. For the regime.
The startup sequence has been updated this year. It contains a brand new way of panning over the lake in Mt. Paektu.

Magnificent music at the begining!
Do you mean the music during the test pattern before KCTV goes on the air with the North Korean national anthem? Or the national anthem and the music for the Kims and what follows after that?
@@joelfrombethlehemthink he meant the first song during the test pattern. It slaps.
You’d think in a rich and powerful country like North Korea, there would be modern TV quality...
Rich and powerful😂😂😂😂
Only the upper class is rich in the country.
TVs have become very cheap nowadays. New 32" HDTVs can now be basically bought for like $80 in China, if not less than that. Less so for used models. They're close to China so ordering a bunch of them in bulk for the folk in Pyongyang (and barely anywhere else, because peasants away from Pyongyang barely even have electricity and can't afford HDTVs) is possible. At least it might be a community effort to afford a single TV for many people to watch around the table, then it would be affordable.
Powerful, maybe. To a degree. They are not as powerful as the United States or China. But rich? Only the most loyal to their great leader, military elites, and government elites are rich and allowed to live in the capital city. The rest of North Koreans are poor farmers and workers who live in extreme poverty. Most North Koreans are starving. North Korea is not a rich country!
@@timoilonen1926 Ha! Ha! Ha!
What I want to know is what time do the Beverly Hillbillies reruns come on ???
Intro music reminds me of a 70s Liberace special
Ну ХЗ, то, что у них по сей день нету круглосуточного телевидения - дело печальное.
8:38 is so neat.
For a country at odds with the west they sure love to use western influenced classical music as their theme music.
Where?
Didn't you know, Kim-Jong il invented all that music amongst other things, and the West stole all his ideas?
8:38 Voice of korea radio OP
Can anyone translate this?
That documentary about zebras sounds non ironically interesting
I would be lying if I didn't say the same.
wow do they have hdtv equipment??!
yes
It's become cheap nowadays. HDTVs are also cheap, especially due to their very close proximity to China
Dreams music to beginn a hard days
Better than the TRASH we have on our TVs!
And you are right! 🎉
The Korean War was started by Kim Il-sung, and all responsibility lies with the North.
6.25 전쟁은 김일성이 일으켰으며, 모든 책임은 북쪽에 있습니다.
In fact Stalin was against it, as he did not want to another confrontation with Truman, as the Berlin airlift was a humiliating experience. However,Kim il Sung managed to convince him and Mao.
constant shelling of the border from the south was an act of peace
and the north signed peace treaty, but the south still refuses to do so
here it is, the terrible northern aggressor
@duren5691 False, there is already underlying evidence that Syngman Rhee was gonna launch an attack on North Korea. He even stated himself in a new year's resolution that he wants to force reunifiy North Korea with them. There was no aggression in the North. Where as the south rigged an election, shunned unions and attempted genocide against those who refused US rule. The North actually had a vote which included the working population of South Korea and by the time Kim II Sung was elected the USSR left while the US didn't. Perhaps if you actually tried to understand anything the North has been portraying to all you boot lickers. Perhaps you wouldn't be in this floppy mess of history you guys are stuck to believing. 💀
I thought it was by usa and uk like all wars in the past 300 years
@@ack6668 😂 Don't you just love when Americans try to change up the facts regarding history?

@@rfinterest_91 No, Im about testcard

17:26 ah yes, no signal
8:38 - This is your mind... on propaganda.
Korean Rawhide🤣🤣🤣
They have nukes, but 80s TV technology.
The fact that they have EXACT time for specific TV programs, they literally want to make sure that no programs will be on overtime. Very surprising tbh...
Except probably party events or something. Because the logic is that the party and its leader are the state, similarly to a certain defunct right-extremist regime of a failed painter from Austria, or a communist dictatorship of a certain moustache from Georgia.
What? Doesn't all tv have schedules?
