- In this video from the ScottieDTV You Can't Cancel Cool Road Tour 2021 I stop by the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY I check out the Sinkhole Exhibit...I remember the morning of February 12, 2014...Like it was yesterday...I was at ET MotorGear that morning and Steve came back into the shop telling us to check out a video...I called BullS==t....If it were true?...It would be all over the news?!?!...Well a few hours later it was all over the news....A sinkhole had opened up under the National Corvette Museum and swallowed up some of the most historical cars on display....A 30 ft hole... Inside the Corvette Museum....during the night....Had swallowed 8 historical Chevrolet Corvette..Crazy!?!? I mean we all have seen them on TV....But have one at such a high profile venue drew worldwide attention...Moat people were in shock like Me...But in true American spirit the National Corvette Museum has turned lemons into lemonade..I mean...As a Car Guy...I wished it would have never happened...As a Proud American I wished that it would have never happened....But it did...And this Sinkhole Exhibit is a cool way to remember that day...So much better than dragging the Cars to a junkyard...And a perfect way to remember the power of Nature...I thought it was cool..I'm sure You will to...From the National Corvette Museum....The Sinkhole Exhibit....Check it out!!!

Those one off cars can't be replaced. Glad they saved them as is. Great video!!
I agree...And this is much better than a junkyard...Thank You...Glad You liked it!!
They can always build a new one. If they don't. It means the company is not preserving history of blueprints. Even Jaguar was digging old blueprints to rebuild their old 60's cars that sold for 400k+ pounds.
That was very sad but glad they were able to make something out of it. Wish I could go there. Thanks for bringing it to me.
Mike
You're welcome Mike....Something to see for sure!!!
Scottie, I remember when that happened very well. I was off work on vacation I was glued to my TV watching the News. I watched the days they started pulling cars out. It’s cool rather than scrapping the cars they made a display.
I'm with ya Brother...I will never forget this day....Glad You liked it!!
Hello Scottie 👋🏻😎👍. When I heard about the accident, I thought it could not be true😱. The whole museum is gone😢, but they have made an admirable work commited to rebuilding it👌🤩👌. I really hope it does not happen again🙏.
I hear ya Brother...I couldn't believe it either....But I think this is the best response one could come up with...
I remember it well. Saw the news clip after it happened. Makes you want to cry. Bought a 68 New & a 94 used 6 spd.
For sure Brother....
Yep, living here in Kentucky it was HUGE news. Nice vid Scottie!
Right on...Thank You Brother...Glad You liked it!!!
I remember when this happened. It was a sad day in American automotive history. Shame all those rare and beautiful cars met this fate, but cool they have them on display. One day I will get there to see them for myself. Thank you for sharing Scottie. Take care.
You're welcome Brother...I hear ya....I hate it happened....But it did...And You have to see it in person...But it's cool.....
Awesome thanks, it was amazing to hear about it when it happened and saw the rebuild of the white convertible, and be one of my bucket list to see in real life one day? Hopefully thanks 👍🏻
You're welcome..Ya got to go...Very cool place for sure!!!
I have lived here 14 years this month and have yet to visit the museum, nor have I explored the caves. Great post, Scottie!
Thank You Brother....I had driven past several times...But Ya gotta check it out....Very cool for sure!!
I hold my hat over my heart. A lot of corvette fatalities. Too bad that some of them that fell in the sinkhole were damaged beyond repair. Thank you for sharing Scottie. I was hoping that the sinkhole would have been filled with dirt.
I hear ya Brother....You're welcome....This was the best and safest way to fix it....Who would have guessed!!
@@ScottieDTV Yep, because the dirt will just settle again and you have to keep adding more dirt, more dirt, more dirt, forever. It would always be unstable. Sinkholes are pretty scary.
Horrible place for a sink hole but they faced adversity and made the best of it. Thanks for covering the story Scottie. See ya. 👍🏼
I agree Brother....You're welcome...Glad You liked it!!!
Wow !! Super interesting !!!😁♥️🇺🇸 Have to get there !!
Most diffidently....
So sad, but making the best of it!
hope never ben sink hole i was wowwwww
I agree!!
For sure Brother!!!!
Loving Corvettes and having had a 98 C5 in Hawaii when I was stationed there in the Navy, seeing the video and pictures of the sinkhole made me sick!
I hear ya....
saw this in person, there was nothing more tragic than seeing these cars crushed just beyond recognition, but hell it's still part of bowling green's history
there was too much in that museum for me to take in in just 3 hours!
Right on....Thanks for checking it out here Brother!!!
Very K😎😎L video.... Thanks for sharing
You're welcome Brother...Thanks for checking it out...Glad You liked it!!
It's absolutely insane how that Mallett Corvette got crushed so badly into the width of a tool chest at best. That was a lot of weight
I hear ya....
Scottie Brotha, I'm about to get married. Blessings be unto you and your endeavors.
Really?!?!...I was married Once!!...lol...No...Congratulations Brother!!
Actually, the 1,000,000th Corvette was badly damaged (much worse than “light” damage, as you said). It took a significant amount of time and effort to restore it.
Cool!
DID YOU GET TO POUR THE COAL TO ONE OF THE VETTS AROUND THE TRACK..... AUTOBAUN
lol..I wish!!!
Oh Wow! That is unbelievable and sad.
I agree Brother....
Cool video. Sad to see!! G
Agreed...Thank You!
Too bad what happened but at least they're here.
I agree...So much better than scraped in a junkyard...
You saying that the 2001 mallet getting smashed is "amazing". Wrong...Its horrible.
Thanks for checking the video out....It was all horrible....
J'ai mal pour elles frère !
Thanks for checking it out!!
