- The Kelvin Timeline Vengeance Intel Dreadnought Cruiser has always been a good ship in Star Trek Online. Also known as the Vengeance this ship was added to the game in 2016. STO has changed alot since then. In this video I go over had well the ship can do with the addition of X2 and ISO Mags. We will look at an ISO mag build on the Kelvin Timeline Vengeance Intel Dreadnought Cruiser.

As the player with the highest FAW record at 1.7 million, it was super surprising to see FAW do old school damage again. Gives me more to work with and play around.😂

My main toon uses the Vengeance as their primary ship, it was gifted to me many many years ago by a friend and I've loved and used it ever since. Mine has had a variety of builds on it over the years but its currently using a Baul Anitproton Surgical Strikes build with a full set of Isomags and it serves me very well.
I need to get the isomags for mine. I built mine before they came out so it's full Ba'ul AP with locators/exploiters. Even then though, it shreds :D
@@SkydreamPony I'd defo make the switch to isomags, I noticed a pretty big difference personally and they're also cheap as right now unlike the 25m a piece I had to pay

Certainly a powerful ship but combined with Isomags and the latest Meta build, it became extremely one of a kind!
Too true about how most ships don't age well over time & the Vengeance is one of those exceptions. I had not even thought about how it would be with IsoMags. Thanks for the vid.
It's one of my main's primary ships and while I might not have a particularly optimal build, it is still a tanky beast. I did get all of the consoles for the Alternate Timeline set and while it's not OP, it is a fun set with a variety of ways to inflict a little pain on the baddies--with the full set bonus cutting down the cooldowns for the all consoles in that set.
But you are definitely right on this still being a really decent ship today. Compared to my Galaxy X's that I fly (Fleet T6-X2, Sirius T6-X2), my T6-X Vengeance seems to be able to soak up quite a bit more punishment and be able to deliver it's own with some of the stuff I put on it--it can survive some pretty intense action and elites. I do plan on getting this one up to X2 and hopefully I can get it for another captain or two.
I am running FAW on my Styx. I have seen several people playing the Vengeance once again and I see why. Time for me to run it again. It used to be my favorite ship for a long time.

man i never got on the isomag thing since they were so expensive and even after this new isomag farm and prices coming down, i was feeling kind of lazy and didn't really want to get into it.
Long story short, I setup my vengeance just now with 7 isomags and O M G.....yeah the crit chance number is lower but holy shit that made a MASSIVE DPS difference. This thing is so crazy now! Gonna have to refit some of my other cruisers now as well!
While I will never spend the Lobi or EC on a single character unlock, the solid build theory here could apply to many 5/3 cruisers. The Fleet Shepard (Gagarin) would be a monster with all the X upgrades and this kind of build.

So far I agree....don't have some the various traits you used and missing the Domino and M6 but she does have a nice punch!
I have a similar setup on mine but am running pulse phasers and i use it as a daily runner. Really solid ship. Need to fine tune it and parse it just for kicks.

I love using this ship. I run a similar build excepts I am running Surgical Strikes instead of Fire at Will.
I remember (unless I'm losing my memory) when the Kelvin verse started, and I forget who was the CM at the time, but when asked about the ships from the movies, he said it would be a cold day in hell before they would be in STO.
Or something to that effect. Then they left, and not long after...here we are.
Or, I could be having an alternate timeline memory.

This ship is and will always be my main, I’ve put tons of work into it, and the ship while it may not deal PvP levels of damage, it’s a jack of all trades, and can survive by itself if needed against hoards.
I go back and fourth between my Vengeance and Enterprise J (my only T6 ships, both upgraded to X2), my most recent build on the Vengeance uses Tetryon weapons and isomags. I recently switched back to my Enterprise J and have that as a Phaser build with isomags. I like them both.
Ive personally run the vengence for 6 years and i love it. Its by far my best tank build. 215k hull with 56% damage resistance, dps is 30k most critical hits so its great for team supporters. Ive updated to a lexington build which gives an extra univeral with its miracle worker trait. Its not as much a tank like the vengeance though, so i still prefer the vengeance. Great video
the vengeence is my main ship, i have it built to be a tank and i use fire at will to get as much threat as possible with Ba'ul antiproton beams. love this ship a ton, now i just gotta figure out how to get isomags, just learned about them this past week
Was gifted it yesterday by some dude on Risa. Very cool thing, although I still feel that it's unearned, I was going to farm lobi for it

I liked this ship so much that I bought the Mudd’s bundle featuring it so all my characters can use it.
Have and use it on my main tac as a main ship! (alternating with the legendary scimitar) Got it in the 50% lobi sale months after the first campaign event, glad I saved the lobi from that for so long
Even though I don't use the uncon trait, nor the isomags, it deals and tanks a ton of damage with the colony consoles, it's crazy how much potential you can still get out of those combined with a handful of nice-to-have consoles (running disruptors with the Martok 2pc, a Pax Triburnium, and the new Hisperian fire console), tackles elites with no problem! Bonus: it doesn't end the fun as fast as full meta setups haha

It is cool ship, I have it for my alt char, some people say its ugly ship but I think they are probably just jealous. lol I always get a "flash back" of the movie when I see that ship.
My personal weapon build for Ships like this, I suggest for the fore weapons, Two beam arrays, Two Omni's And One torpedo. In the Aft I equip two beam arrays, and torpedo. Then I always have at least 5 weapons on the front or aft.

Thanks for doing this video. I have the vengeance on my "main" Engy toon. But I don't exactly have a great build for it. I still need to get phaser Isomags on it, but that toon already has 4 vulnerability locators... so there's definitely a "sunk cost" feeling.
All that said, I have been having fun messing with Miracle worker boff seating on the Legendary Sovereign class now. Narrow Sensor Bands 1+2 is just gross when you're surrounded by enemies. But your choice of intel boff abilities on the vengeance is certainly interesting... I may use your build as a template to fix mine, lol.

I put the colony tac consoles on it and the Herold AP weapons, it's a POWERHOUSE

Just got back to STO, stopped playing right before this ship came out. It was THE ship I wanted, so much so that I'm playing again, in this ship;). Now to figure out what rep to get and where to get all those toys you're running....
...never even knew about the ISO Mags lol. Guess I'll look into setting up my Vengeance, and see if I should pour in the resources to upgrade everything to Epic quality.
i bet someone has mentioned it already but you are actually running the Disco 3pc. (Wide Angle DHBB) 16:17. And also 17:21 The Adaptive Emergency Systems console (which I love-Diet DPRM) is only for Odyssey, Bortasqu & Scimitar ships. UPDATE: I just slotted the Adaptive Emercency System to my Kelvin Intel Dreadnought Cruiser. So I'll be over here, standing corrected.
Have mine, and still use the Kelvin Phasers & Torps (gold XVs) and probably won't change simply because of the firing rates, although most everything else is setup the way yours is, although I'm running a slightly different Eng console setup.
Is the competitive reputation impulse engine ever going to be outclassed? 😆 That turn boost is just so awesome.

Great vid... I've been juggling the idea of the Vengeance Vs the Inquiry for the Campaign Event this year. I really like tihs ship, but I do personally prefer MW ships however, so right now the Inquiry is looking like the better ship for me. But that may very well be subject to change!
You could still get both. The Vengeance is very cheap on the exchange. Get yourself the inquiry with the Campaign and save up for the Vengeance later if ever you change your mind. My goal is to get the Legendary Dominion ship for the trait to extend Surgical Strikes 3.

The only fancy ships im missing are any winter/ summer ships since the t6 Breen, and any lobi/box ships since Around then.
I have a toon for most themes. I really want my Undine captain's NX and T6 ships to shine. They look great, and i like the (non-canon) lore for that captain which i made up regarding them.
I also really like my Tholian themed captain (ROM, engineering)'s lore, but the ships are only so so for me
I haven't broke this ship out in a while, love the kelvin phasers for it and torpedo. Not sure how well isomags would go with a faw build.
my most beloved ship on my main fed (my main main main character).. i wanted it ever since i saw someone flying it.... and since then i gotten sozens of t6 event ships ... .but i still ONLY use this ship.
Watched an old Inquiry build vid the other day. Unpopular opinion but actually like the look (deflector kinda has that Thunderbird 2 "belly" flow).
Checked out C-store to see if I could buy it, but couldnt find it. So I went on to do a space dmg endeavour, looking through my active ship slots for a Tetryon build....and there's an actual Inquiry there.
No idea how or when I got it as I normally only buy C-store, not lockbox ships...Anyways, it slaps harder then any other of my ships.
Morale of the story, go check your drydock/active ship slots!
Meta weapons come in both beam and cannon, I use both FAW and CSW. I had more Tac seats than tac abilities to slot anyways. Terran Task Force Cannon and beam, Discovery beam, remainder cannons. Use both Trillithium Enhanced turret and Trilithium Enhanced omni beam in the back. Opinion on this tactic?
I always see phaser builds with this ship. Id love some help with an antiproton build. So if you do another video. Maybe some ideas for different energy types. Also do isomags do antiproton?
I would just go with antiproton ISO mags and antiproton weapons
Never got the Lobi crystals to buy it but it is my favorite ship in the game

well i'm writing this comment before watching all of the vid.
thing is ever since I got my Vengeance I've been recommending it and on my opinion its one of the best ships in the lobi store (I play on ps4 and CsV just does not hold up there compared to BoL and other stuff )

I have this ship on account unlock. Still haven't done anything with it but it is x2ed already. I might have to try something like this on mine.
I like this ship I just wish there was a way to get it for newer players who don't have the time to spend 20 straight days playing for event rewards or those that don't want to spend crazy amounts of $$ opening lock boxes to get enough lobi to get it, I've had friends who were new to STO and have seen mine and when I told them how to get it they pretty much gave up on ever getting it on their characters.

when I watch your videos I feel like crying because I see your inventories and the parts you mount on your ships which are all mk 14 because then I see my poor inventories and my ships with mk 12 parts
Actually picked up a Vengeance and my first isomags this week to run with SS3 & Vanguard Specialists.
Only regret is that I’m basically out 200M EC because I’m absolutely getting the Vengeance account-wide later.
Not too sure about your needs but wouldn't it be better for you to buy one the the Mudd Bundles? Obviously I know nothing of your play style or if you are completely F2P.
@@pershing3346 Oh that's what I mean by getting it account-wide later. I wish I hadn't missed the bundle coming back at 50% by two weeks, we'll see if I'm still invested when it rolls around again.

And last time I checked this ship was less than 250 million on the Exchange. So it's an incredible value for what it can do. Don't go wasting lobi on it.

Have you tried using the phasers from the Constitution III the ones with the 210 degree fire arc instead of the dual beam banks?
The Vengeance is the ship i use on my main on my FTP account and just outfitted it with Isomags a very good ship.

use the shuttles that give heals on it. thats what I do.
Sounds nice. Would the "Experimental Power Redirection Computer" from the Excelsior II and the "Assisted Flight Algorithms" for flanking damage also be a good choice for that build? :)
Followed this build about 98% (based on what I had unlocked/available) and took it into ISA Elite.
Did okay but died twice due to no Survivability clickies or traits. What's the ONE TRAIT you'd slot yourself to give heals / help survive? I'd rather give up a trait than a damage console.
The ones that I think is most accessible and come most often recommended are History Will Remember and Calm Before the Storm. HWR gives you bonuses as you get hit, which last until map move (warping out), and Calm stacks bonuses over time. I dont remember exact numbers, but I know those are often recommended from the Cstore as good budget traits. There might be others I dont know about, but I thought those would give you an idea to start with.

I am not sure which ship has it now but the M6 Computer is listed as being on the Perseus Temporal Battlecruiser via the wiki.....but it is not there. Any idea what ship it is on?
Would an extra isomag do better than the butterfly console in the tac slot (replaced with the lorcator instead)?

Hit ESC, select Rearrange HUD, there should be a NEW Button on the Big Personal Tray #1 which enables #2
If the Tarren warp core was not nerfed it would be better . That baby would red line 130 in all subs at a great rate Just think if it worked right with ISo mags today . Then it slowed to a Turtle pace 1 year after it came out ! All any reports that where call in Forum pretty much killed Erased. All bug report never addressed ! The Terran Task Force Quantum Capacitor Warp Core WAS the First ISO mag !
30:10 why change ETM? It works for FAW and CSV...i also use it with torps in my sci toon
Yes you are correct. But if you were going to do CSV, you get better up time and can extend a higher rank of CSV with Withering Barrage than you can with ETM. ETM only give rank one of the firing modes.
@@MCStu I'm using cannons with 5 toons, out of 8, just an excuse to use the Rex ship, also, being an ftp that started playing a year ago focusing on beams, i just started doing cannons more after the klingon recruit...ETM will give me Torp Spread 1 when i activate CSV 3 and while on cool down i'll use Torp Spread 2 and will get CSV 1...having Inertial Supremacy sloted, debuffs foes with AoE attacks, it's good to have AoE firing modes up non stop...Mixed Armaments Synergy also helps to give CSV1 a bit more punch...
I just think that Withering Barrage and ETM work great together.

In doing away with engineering resistances and advanced tacticals . is there a level/ship loadout where there is a disadvantage to swap over to isomags?
If your ship has more engineering and universal consoles than it does tactical consoles, then use the isomags. So for escorts stick with spire consoles, etc. Also, it doesn’t matter for science ships if you’re using science abilities as your main damage output.
What would be the upgrade from this ship? Been running this a very long time.

I have been flying it since the ship came out. I use it has a extreme tank. I have it at 292000 hull.
It's funny, I've been doing builds like this for years. Everyone was just doing the same beam overload or scatter volley builds lol. Isomags are certainly better. Gotta get the vengence out, it has been a while

If you’re jamming Elites with the homies all day then yes, go Isomags and get that extra 2% dps! Otherwise your time is worth so much more, like making videos which are too long and blah, blah, blah - I love my voice.

Have this ship, I do. Play with it still but switch over to others I like. I still have yet to try the iso's on it. But I think FAW is becoming over used. So I'm going to plan building it Surgical Strikes see were it goes. Shittiest part is, Khan describes the ship on film and we get something that is not even that close in maneuver ability and combat as it should be.
What about Surgical Strikes build on this ship? With vanguard trait and now isomags.
