    • @rayboucher479
      @rayboucher479 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@michaelchamberlain4618 yes that way they could have used any heat from the house wood stove to help keep the lines from freezing. Even keeping the washing machine in that separated room may cause problems as I do not know if the water drains completely from the machine ! Good luck to them though as they are trying hard and getting things done .

    You both are doing a doing a great job! I look forward to each of your videos. We built an almost off grid property a couple years ago. We are only connected to the power grid, but we did all of the ground work to get to the transformer 780 feet away, all the power company did was use our feeder rope to pull wire. I'm still trying to convince my husband into chickens. I have a veggie garden, food forest and other edibles throughout or property. I dream of being as remote and independent as you are.

    insulation around water sewer should always be spray foam just saying because if there is a leak it handles water better. batten insulates holds water and stays wet for along long time.. mold grows and such... smells eck eck eck. but hey that's just me. And being an outside wall,...... water freezes and expands so what do you think will happen to that wall if it leaks? and water being on an outside wall where cold is.. i hope it doesn't freeze,.... not good. should be on inside wall in corner fine but not outside because of cold temps.Just looking further down the road for you is all. thanks for sharing as always awesome video take care Katie and Katie watch over Greg make sure he stays safe.. hugs to both of you for doing so much on your own!!.

    Couple things you may or may not care about.. the studer vent / air vent for the washer drain should be above the washer drain the reason for that is if that drain ever plugs up the vent will leak inside the wall I know they are designed to pull air in but they can and will leak water. If the vent is above the drain it will leak inside the washer box instead of the wall , you’ll also need to provide a vent in that wall to pull air .. second thing I noticed any time on water lines where you have an automatic water valve that slams shut such as a washing machine / dish washer etc.. you should put air hammers in-line to prevent water lines from slamming when the valve shuts now you don’t necessarily have to put them in but it’s better if you do
