As stated these columns also occur at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. There was much speculation in ancient times as to what their purpose was - stepping stones for Giants etc - but the reality of how they were formed, millions of years ago by a huge volcanic eruption, is much more interesting than the myths and legends which surround them. They are well worth a visit. If you are interested in golf and plan to come to Portrush to see the open in 2019; you will only be a stone's throw from the Causeway - it is well worth a visit:)
It's part of the ancient causeway that went all the way to Northern Ireland. Volcanic lava formation my ass. Do you think I came up the coast in a banana boat? It's the Giants Causeway.
Fingal's Cave Fingal's Cave is a sea cave on the uninhabited island of Staffa, in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, part of a National Nature Reserve owned by the National Trust for Scotland.
I used to be in the plant camp but am now a firm believer that this like other places are dead Giants.. Hard to be believe but so is a volcanic eruption pushed up the columns perfectly. Also these rock formations always appear where giants where said to live. All our real history is hidden from us. Devils tower is a def tree stump.😊.
@@Hughsemailsearch it looks more like a construct to me, made by someone and not by nature or volcanic eruption. Perhaps it was part of a bridge to Ireland. Perhaps giants built it. Official history is a bs.
Um, I thought this was about a cave, you know, like INSIDE the cave, not romancing about the outside....so what does the inside look like? One can look at the outside all day but that only goes so far....
There is no problem at all getting inside Fingal's Cave. Take a boat cruise out there and you'll have plenty of time to inside and look at the columns. Don't worry about being American. It's the Sasanachs they hate in Scotland : )
+guydecervens If I'm correct this is the Jules Verne cave right and how big is it and is there a restriction going inside even if you can go inside? I wonder if anyone has ever found the center of the earth xD in the book I believe there's a certain way to actually see it unless that's just the Brendan Fraser version.
@105588424741920009918 That's right Jules Verne used it as an inspiration for some of his work. The cave is about 60ft high and 200ft deep, although these dimensions vary depending on who measures it. You can walk inside but wear soft soled boots for the slippy rocks
WELL What if it was possible this will blow your mind really... www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/13/hidden-ocean-earth-core-underground-video_n_5491692.html
Magnificent place. Tk you.
as a 17 year old I visited fingals cave and we sailed up to it and managed to go inside on a very calm day. It was an amazing experience
a beautiul video complete with myth, geology, music, art and history...thank you
Mendelssohn has been promoting this place to me for long

The Giant's Causeway can be found on the south west coast of Mull, it stretches from Ireland to Scotland or vice versa.
I was hoping to hear what the waves sound like on the inside - too bad
Enjoyed this very much, thank you.

Fantastic. I wanna go there
Awesome! But what does the inside of the cave look like?
Turner, my favorite
I enjoyed the film about him last year
How were the tunnels carved
But I wanted to hear the music the cave makes with the waves :c
Otherwise it was a very good informational video
Or a giant 🙂
Where did this video originally come from/how do I find more like it?
Is it bad that I started humming the beginning of the overtire the minute I saw the cave? No? Okay.
If I'm American and want to visit this place what are my rights in doing so are you allowed to go inside?

+Nathaniel Bobo There is also a clip in the film Cremaster where the giant Fingal is filmed inside the cave

being a geomorphologist i loved it
and what do u think of it...? How did it form
Where are the giants
60 million years. Cool story. Bullshit date
Bert they just gave you a number and you roll with it. There's no evidence.
Bert again. What evidence have they given you for the dates? What process was used? Other than making up a number. What was their start point?
Bert yeah. That's what morons like you believe. An English accent making up numbers is facts😂😂fucking idiots. It. Must be facts. Its sounds like it
Bert haaaaa. No evidence.. Believing fairy tales 😂😂😂
Bert explain to me how in these millions if years this hasn't eroded from the ocean and winds. Common sense is all it takes. Don't be a sheep
looks like muffin xD
There isn't a rusty walrus by that cave is there? Heheheh (crash bandicoot brought me here)
Incredibly beautiful video with iconic Mendelssohn. Thank for this. "Indistinctness is my forte"
He said “cubes”!? of rock. Rather an inaccurate description.
Pompous Dimbleby distracting.
Old Tree Stump
Tree
Contrary to rumor minah birds do not inhabit the island.
giant tree stump
Ancient aliens ?
Ancient earthlings.
If you think that was impressive, Mr Dimbleby, you should have seen it when we we there........
lol just a minecraft cave... wait what!???!
**headdesk** Sure hope you're trying to be funny...
I like how these bullshit story's are made, you can tell that was a city or something, natural formation my ass
