Your enthusiasm and love for what you do is infectious, I swear. Thank you for putting these shows and making this style of music a bit more accesible for us newbies. PS. My thought on the new song title would be Tangerine. To my ear, it has a jaunty summery, maybe Mediterranean feel. Those citrus lined streets and piazas. Plus, it matches your skirt.
Jocelyn Gould! You are a maniac! I love your playing and I love The Jocelyn Gould Show! Your band is killer! You are a killer! ..and what a smile! What a great attitude! ..and killer chops to boot! Subscribed!!!
The closest I can come to identifying the contrafact is Doxy. Please continue the shows and everything else you do. I love playing, your original tunes are great and your singing is superb.
Dig the style, and love the content! I hope you can continue to connect in this format. Liked and subscribed! Not sure if it was intentional but the color combo of your outfit reminds me of Snow White 🍎
Wow Jocelyn, you are really getting great. Your usual stuff was more like old fashion cord melody to me. This is super modern burning fantastic composing. Really really liking it. Can’t wait to see where you go next.
Another fun show, thanks for your efforts, it's really great to watch. Also enjoy your thoughts on learning to play. One thing that helped me a lot was the old Mel Bay books, especially the chord dictionary because the variations opened up ideas for solos.
Still listening but just needed to comment on the question put to you about what jazz guitarists to recommend to non-jazzer types. This should be a no-brainer. I'll list ten for consideration: Robben Ford, Larry Carlton, Larry Coryell, John Pizzarelli, Earl Klugh, Lee Ritenour, Howard Roberts, Herb Ellis, Allen Holdsworth, Jim Hall, & Charlie Christian. There are oodles more, but this is my short list from a humongous choice of greats. My personal fave was one you did mention... Joe Pass. For me, Joe was the best of the very, very best. Peace, Love, & Bobby Sherman!! 🙂🙃🙂
@@jocelyngouldmusic You should do it. Vinyl is huge now, and vinyl suits jazz very well. ( : PS.I hope you can come to the Taipei Jazz Festival someday. ( :
Many Thanks Jocelyn!!..you're a great guitarist . Where can we get your partitures? It would be nice whether you publish your music or arrangements to jazz standards . Saludos from Mexico City.
Beautiful concert Jocelyn, you sound so great, in the trad and modern as well. I love the ambiance of these videos. I have a pretty technical question about sound and video captation. How do you manage to record the whole thing. I dream to do the same at my place im Marseille, France. If you have some tips, I’d appreciate a lot. Keep grooving that way. Best, Laurent
@@jocelyngouldmusic Ahh yes I hear it now at the end of the 1st phrase, and in the changes. The opening few notes I heard an embellished 'sa-ah-ah-ah-ah-lt peanuts' x2 ha ha! I'll pay more attention next time.
You and your man and mohini dey and her husband should form a band. When y'all form please let me prod at least one track for y'all. All seriousness. Y'all should form and id knock the opportunity out of the park to work with yall
Your guitar is either out of tune or mildly off intonation. Better go with a Peterson StroboClip. Also, there is a lack of note separation. Potentially due to using nickle wound? Better go with pure nickle for a 16B (I suggest DR blues, low tension, easy to play).
You and your music is infectious! Amazing quartet and show! Can't get enough!
Love it, sounds fantastic Jocelyn. Greetings from Canberra, Australia !!!👍👍👍
Thank you! I hope to make it to Australia one day!
Great after you’ve gone and great singing!! Thank You
Thanks! 😊
The Greatest show on earth 👏 👏
Woohoo!
Deep thanks to Drummer Kevin for speaking truth to practice: "You're gonna suck for awhile man, and that's okay . . . it's gonna take a minute."
Loved this, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
incredible tone coming out that guitar

That's a great idea but there's already a jazz standard called Tangerine!
Wonderful show, everybody!!!
Thank you so much!
Really enjoy your playing, your group and your vocals, Jocelyn. God bless you. Numbers 6:24-26; John 3:16-17.
Top notch musicians!
Thank you so much!
Hope you all know and feel it, this is elite, top notch all around. Astounded.

Amo escutar esta garota tocando ou cantando pois a leveza de suas interpretações e seu lindo sorriso denuncia a sua satisfação como músico de jazz.
Thank you!
Cheers to this great band!
Everyone is top notch.
Encore(s)!!

Also, really liked that last tune. Very Monkish.

It’s definitely Doxy. With a Bemsha Swing “vibe”. 😜
You got it! Thanks so much!
very cool! I don't know whether the band switcheroo in the room is a factor but the sound in this one is fabulous
It definitely helped to isolate the piano a bit!
I love this shows and the q&a parts are so interesting. Every musician speaking by his own experience is very enriching. Keep it up guys!🙌🏻✨️
Thanks so much, we will!
Winnipeg produces so many great musicians…proud as a Canadian and makes me wonder if there is something in the water in the Peg???
I think there is!
Absolutely wonderful

“Getting”? Her playing is stellar. Pro-fessional! And the band is killer too. Bravo.

See you then!

nice!
Thanks!
Heard some stellar playing on the siriusXM jazz channel, and I was like who is that.. sure enough
Amazing!
Jocelyn is enigmatic. (in a good way!)
A name suggestion for your contrafact is Rollin' . By the way, y'all are fantastic!

Doxy would work - you could call it Roxy😁. Like the new set up config! Always fun!!👏😁
Lol I will take that under advisement! Thank you!
What guitar amp are you using?
Henriksen JazzAmp

I want to have her smile.. but then you need marvelous teeth too😅
great music, good feeling! 👍
Hi Jocelyn, great tone! Is that a Henriksen amp you’re playing?
Yes, a JazzAmp

I have just performed a lot, and you kearn by experience!
This girl is pure genius
😊thanks!
For the new tune, how about Sonny Days? It's got a feelgood, sunshine vibe, and you can give a little nod to Mr Rollins.
Song name - “Drumstruck”
😁
Maybe Gould's Gold?
Also second the music on vinyl request!
I'm keeping track! We'll see!
Will’s solo on the last tune was great but it made me feel confused (45:43). I dunno why. Maybe call this one “Sorry, what?” Or “Pardon?”
Nice song with no name. Has a nice bounce. But I still like Show I song Managed to forget you best. I’ve listened to it a few times.
Awesome! Hope yo record it soon!
Was your contrefact based on Salt Peanuts? Cool tune. Enjoying your sessions. Looking forward to next one. Duncan
Thank you! It was based on Doxy!

I'm impressed with how the tin can doesn't fall off the stool...
Great show. Was that a contrafact of that Jada jing jing jing tune? You could call it ETF in honor of that last question about bitcoin 😂
Doxy!
Just letting you know, website needs updating.🎼
I'll get to it soon!
@@jocelyngouldmusic Thanks, hopefully you have some dates around the D.C. area in the near future.

keeping the drummer hidden away!
It's only because the drums are so loud and bleed into the other mics! It helps the sound.

Honestly, I'm struggling with the sound on these shows...The drums are just a roomy wash without definition.
Thanks for the feedback, the sound is tricky with everyone in one room!
