The shields are blue rarely wich means rare I find shields often but rare means rare not every chest and I love how finnaly the rarely means something gray weapons are actually commun and green weapons are actually uncommun not spawning in every chest if it was like that in chapter 1 (wich it was) well then it's perfect
Having limited shields does not work anymore because everybody is a lot better at the game now making it very dangerous to enter a fight without any shield.
The reason why og 2 "sucks" is not cuz its bad, its that the community cant accept anything that is old gen or that smth is wrong in anyway. As a OG player myself, I enjoyed this game mode far more than the game modes now even with these "errors". The community cant handle shit when they get what they want, after only a few small inconsistencies they fucking complain and get more people to stop playing. (the sweats are the only problem imo)

They need to add the old hud or add an option where you can change between the og hud and the chapter 2-5 hud. That would hit me with the most nostalgic wave I have ever had. I might even cry if that happened. That would make me play 10x more.
It's not what they asked for however, Epic promised the OG OG experience and this is definitely not it. Look, it's nevertheless much more fun than ch6. But Epic, being a multi-billion dollar company, unable to make good decisions or even slightly change animations, bring back old weapon models, damage properties and graphics (lighting, intensity...) is just hilarious to me. 😂 Honestly, I could've done better if I was in charge of the OG mode.
yeah it 100% feels half baked, like they really tried to bring OG back to life but just didn't have the budget to do it all the way. And even thought some of the quality of life things are nice, I still stand by that the movement should be reverted to what it was back in chapter 1. It's not just a quality of life feature, it completely changes the way you play the game and fights. Besides, like you said, you want OG to be there for older players to return, most of these older players don't want to play a game with a movement mechanic they are not used to. They just want to play the game like they did 6/7 years ago. I think the biggest difference between OG the previous time was that that OG didn't try to be a faithful remake, just a month full of fun on the old map. This time they adverticed it as true OG and just slammed in stuff they think is better for the game while no OG player asked for it. It got a lot of hype day 1 and I saw a lot of people in my friends returning, but the list got significantly smaller every day. When I asked some of them why they played for such a short time while they played so much last year, the common answer was that they were dissapointed epic promised to bring back a faithful remake of OG and just didn't do that, a lot of complaints about the points you made with inconsistencies that irritated them because it's just lazy dev behavior, but almost all of them agreed bringing back the new movement was the worst they could do (Not talking about no builds, just builds). The game just doesn't feel OG.
The movement is a weird one, cause removing the new movement would make it more OG, but it would also make the game feel slower, but keeping it in removes that OG factor. I’m just glad they didn’t add the chapter 6 movement. The ledge boost jump is always messing me up.
@@brycestrand I don't think making the game slower on the chapter 1 map is a bad thing. It's by far the smallest map we've had and the size was calculated with the old movement in mind. I've had so many games where I get a lot of action early, then there are less than 20 people alive before first circle closes and you start walking around without seeing a single soul for minutes. Tbh if they want to make newer fortnite player happy AND keep the OG's from uninstalling again, they should add a third gamemode called "OG Classic" or something where all the quality of life stuff is removed aswell (old movement, no reboots, standing still while drinking, no turbobuilding, old ammo cap etc). This will probably also help the problem of OG being a sweatfest because the sweats will still play OG with the QoL stuff and the more casual player who barely played the game for the last 6/7 years can play OG Classic.

Atleast then you have to be strategic about pushing someone outside of zone when the storm is coming because it will kill both of you if you don't end the fight quickly. Now you can just W-key everyone without any consequences which gives really boring midgames because 80% of the lobby will be death by the time first circle closes.
I'll state my thoughts on it, as I mainly started C4:S4 but did look into fortnites past to gain an appreciation for what has come and know what I lost. Seasons 1-3 will be slow, dull, and would've been brutal, as the first two seasons are the growing pains of the game with three being boring but have the foundation that many players know. S4:OG was beloved because it quickly left the duller parts of the season to focus on what everyone loves despite missing nearly 2/3 of the content, while retaining the QoL features the game got to keep it fun. Inconsistencies will happen, it does suck that it isn't 1:1, but I do expect this as, NO ONE is gonna catch every detail especially if it'll conflict with whats in the code. I wouldn't be surprised if the storm texture for example is the same for all modes and couldn't be changed due to changing the code for the storm to easily exist in all modes that need it. SBMM and Bots have to go hand n hand, seperating players by their metrics will require bots due to the player densities in SBMM. For Fortnite its Fair < Player Filled because the high and low parts of skill will be too sparse with bots. But they should add "better" bots to keep players on their feet, alongside gradually decreasing the bot count to near zero(like ten or twenty at the least) while introducing the "better" bots so high SBMM isn't just a desert. Players nostalgia is rose tinted, SBMM and Bots are added because the playerbase has gotten better since then, and that skill disparity in the first two days is earthquake inducing, while at the same time many "ogs" have likely played in the later seasons of this chapter and even then may have forgotten how wack the game used to be. OG mode itself will be a way to stammer out the readditions of the OG in the future that'll devalue it, Reload was a rushened relief due to reception of C5:S3 and Chapter 2 Remix highlighted that the November OG season isn't going to be a highlight reel again. and now that theres a consistent way to play the OG mode, it's not gonna be a warm recollection, its going to be what you'll expect from the time with some modern furnishes to not push away people. The major positive this OG stuff brings is returnable retrofitted passes, I'm deeply disappointed with the original passes being permanently unavailable as it means bloat that many players won't be able to get at anypoint while simultaniously keeping newer players from getting content they would've loved and thus pushing them away. OG Pass is a secondwind for original cosmetics to come back and always be accessible, we won't know how everything will turnout, but the skins are upgrades in one aspect or another with the first "Pass" coming to the shop to highlight the changes in design for skins.
I also noticed the absurd onslaught of sweats during the first day of OG and I was begging for bots to fight. I only won my first game that day and the rest of the day was dying to sweats that have been playing the game since day 1. It really made we wish for an option to fight bots. At this point I don't see why epic can't give us an option to fight bot lobbies in the casual modes. I'd rather have that than it being forced or unavailable. Sometimes I just wanna get a high kill game and sometimes I want to be challenged or fight real people in these modes that are at my skill level.

I think they did a good job, I didn't play og fortnite either but to my understanding, the shield spawn is because shields were more rare back then. Also, if you don't want ppl cranking 90s on you then just play zero builds bc in my opinion zero builds is a more accurate re creation since the port a bunkers are equivalent to about what ppl were capable of building back then.

I Understand you all new gens love to sprint in Fortnite. l love it too, its fun and it makes the game faster. but when youre getting down to 20 players before the first circle closes, thats an issue that taking out sprinting and sliding and all of that other stuff would fix. Lets keep the new movement for the new game modes and the old movement for the old game modes. i dont know why people are wanting new movement IN AN OG GAMEMODE.
The movement is fine, but the animations are the problem for me. I cant fully immerse myself because of how different it is to play with them. Mantling and sprinting is fine, as i said, but they shouls revert the movement to how it was in chapter 4/the first og season. The new movement but the old animations.. it would be perfect😊

Even though I started in mid season 3 (I am not gonna say chap 1, because we all know what I am talking about). I still had fun playing the OG OG as in season 1. Its great, I actually enjoyed it and it somehow felt nostalgic even though I never played it but just something similar to it. yeah I realized the problems, I actually hate sprinting and sliding they shouldnt exist but I still had fun.

i played back then the game/map around season 4 was the best for multiple reasons 1- there wasnt as much visual clutter, the simplicity is what made it fun these days theres so much going on on your screen its kinda annoying, why every single color need to be on my screen at once? 2- jump pads and mobility items made the slow movement fine, the reason it would kill the current og map is because there is NO mobility besides the garbage little jump pads they just added yesterday 3- we had minis and vehicles at the same time literally everything was perfect you had shields and meds no bots so the games felt authentic we had mobility if the current og map had minis and shockwaves along with the other incosistencies like reboot vans, the new movement, and the ammo caps or whatever it may be, people would have more fun with it also the og sniper rifle feels exactly how it used to back in the day its kinda nice to see it again
though this video isn’t perfect I agree that this season has not been much fun. In hindsight the Season 1 map is pretty horrible. The loot pool is great but overall the game feels stale for me atleast right now. With that being said come Season 3 I think the game will feel perfect

@@arazaeI mean they would obviously still have the map data for Chapter 1, so they would not need to put in as much development time as a new chapter map. Also the only thing different for OG are models, lighting, graphics, HUD, UI and movement techniques and animations. And before you say "dont defend the multi-billion corporation" I wont, they obviously can change stuff like HUD, UI, Animations but they literally cant change certain elements like the graphics and lighting due to being on a newer version of Unreal Engine.

The biggest problem is that there are 25 people left before the first zone closes
and thats because of the bots taking up half the playercount. i'm a diamond player in ranked and i still get spammed with bots when i play pubs

When I asked some of them why they played for such a short time while they played so much last year, the common answer was that they were dissapointed epic promised to bring back a faithful remake of OG and just didn't do that, a lot of complaints about the points you made with inconsistencies that irritated them because it's just lazy dev behavior, but almost all of them agreed bringing back the new movement was the worst they could do (Not talking about no builds, just builds). The game just doesn't feel OG.
The movement is a weird one, cause removing the new movement would make it more OG, but it would also make the game feel slower, but keeping it in removes that OG factor. I’m just glad they didn’t add the chapter 6 movement. The ledge boost jump is always messing me up.

@@brycestrand I don't think making the game slower on the chapter 1 map is a bad thing. It's by far the smallest map we've had and the size was calculated with the old movement in mind. I've had so many games where I get a lot of action early, then there are less than 20 people alive before first circle closes and you start walking around without seeing a single soul for minutes. Tbh if they want to make newer fortnite player happy AND keep the OG's from uninstalling again, they should add a third gamemode called "OG Classic" or something where all the quality of life stuff is removed aswell (old movement, no reboots, standing still while drinking, no turbobuilding, old ammo cap etc). This will probably also help the problem of OG being a sweatfest because the sweats will still play OG with the QoL stuff and the more casual player who barely played the game for the last 6/7 years can play OG Classic.
@@naaha6709 Wow almost like you have to plan ahead when to move like we did in the old days. Atleast then you have to be strategic about pushing someone outside of zone when the storm is coming because it will kill both of you if you don't end the fight quickly. Now you can just W-key everyone without any consequences which gives really boring midgames because 80% of the lobby will be death by the time first circle closes.

I'll state my thoughts on it, as I mainly started C4:S4 but did look into fortnites past to gain an appreciation for what has come and know what I lost.
Seasons 1-3 will be slow, dull, and would've been brutal, as the first two seasons are the growing pains of the game with three being boring but have the foundation that many players know. S4:OG was beloved because it quickly left the duller parts of the season to focus on what everyone loves despite missing nearly 2/3 of the content, while retaining the QoL features the game got to keep it fun.
Inconsistencies will happen, it does suck that it isn't 1:1, but I do expect this as, NO ONE is gonna catch every detail especially if it'll conflict with whats in the code. I wouldn't be surprised if the storm texture for example is the same for all modes and couldn't be changed due to changing the code for the storm to easily exist in all modes that need it.
SBMM and Bots have to go hand n hand, seperating players by their metrics will require bots due to the player densities in SBMM. For Fortnite its Fair < Player Filled because the high and low parts of skill will be too sparse with bots. But they should add "better" bots to keep players on their feet, alongside gradually decreasing the bot count to near zero(like ten or twenty at the least) while introducing the "better" bots so high SBMM isn't just a desert.
Players nostalgia is rose tinted, SBMM and Bots are added because the playerbase has gotten better since then, and that skill disparity in the first two days is earthquake inducing, while at the same time many "ogs" have likely played in the later seasons of this chapter and even then may have forgotten how wack the game used to be.
OG mode itself will be a way to stammer out the readditions of the OG in the future that'll devalue it, Reload was a rushened relief due to reception of C5:S3 and Chapter 2 Remix highlighted that the November OG season isn't going to be a highlight reel again. and now that theres a consistent way to play the OG mode, it's not gonna be a warm recollection, its going to be what you'll expect from the time with some modern furnishes to not push away people.
The major positive this OG stuff brings is returnable retrofitted passes, I'm deeply disappointed with the original passes being permanently unavailable as it means bloat that many players won't be able to get at anypoint while simultaniously keeping newer players from getting content they would've loved and thus pushing them away. OG Pass is a secondwind for original cosmetics to come back and always be accessible, we won't know how everything will turnout, but the skins are upgrades in one aspect or another with the first "Pass" coming to the shop to highlight the changes in design for skins.

I also noticed the absurd onslaught of sweats during the first day of OG and I was begging for bots to fight. I only won my first game that day and the rest of the day was dying to sweats that have been playing the game since day 1. It really made we wish for an option to fight bots. At this point I don't see why epic can't give us an option to fight bot lobbies in the casual modes. I'd rather have that than it being forced or unavailable. Sometimes I just wanna get a high kill game and sometimes I want to be challenged or fight real people in these modes that are at my skill level.

I think they did a good job, I didn't play og fortnite either but to my understanding, the shield spawn is because shields were more rare back then. Also, if you don't want ppl cranking 90s on you then just play zero builds bc in my opinion zero builds is a more accurate re creation since the port a bunkers are equivalent to about what ppl were capable of building back then.
the only problem for me is the excessive bots but other than that its amazing

I Understand you all new gens love to sprint in Fortnite. l love it too, its fun and it makes the game faster. but when youre getting down to 20 players before the first circle closes, thats an issue that taking out sprinting and sliding and all of that other stuff would fix. The movement is fine, but the animations are the problem for me. I cant fully immerse myself because of how different it is to play with them. Even though I started in mid season 3 (I am not gonna say chap 1, because we all know what I am talking about). I still had fun playing the OG OG as in season 1. Its great, I actually enjoyed it and it somehow felt nostalgic even though I never played it but just something similar to it. yeah I realized the problems, I actually hate sprinting and sliding they shouldnt exist but I still had fun.

the game/map around season 4 was the best for multiple reasons
1- there wasnt as much visual clutter, the simplicity is what made it fun
these days theres so much going on on your screen its kinda annoying, why every single color need to be on my screen at once?
2- jump pads and mobility items made the slow movement fine, the reason it would kill the current og map is because there is NO mobility besides the garbage little jump pads they just added yesterday
3- we had minis and vehicles at the same time
literally everything was perfect
you had shields and meds
no bots so the games felt authentic
we had mobility
if the current og map had minis and shockwaves along with the other incosistencies like reboot vans, the new movement, and the ammo caps or whatever it may be, people would have more fun with it
also the og sniper rifle feels exactly how it used to back in the day its kinda nice to see it again

though this video isn’t perfect I agree that this season has not been much fun. In hindsight the Season 1 map is pretty horrible. The loot pool is great but overall the game feels stale for me atleast right now. With that being said come Season 3 I think the game will feel perfect

@@arazaeI mean they would obviously still have the map data for Chapter 1, so they would not need to put in as much development time as a new chapter map. Also the only thing different for OG are models, lighting, graphics, HUD, UI and movement techniques and animations. And before you say "dont defend the multi-billion corporation" I wont, they obviously can change stuff like HUD, UI, Animations but they literally cant change certain elements like the graphics and lighting due to being on a newer version of Unreal Engine.
