- An excellent morning/afternoon spent at the always busy station of Peterborough on the East Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains East Coast, Cross Country, East Midlands Trains, Grand Central, Hull Trains, Govia Great Northern and freight from DB Cargo UK, Freightliner and GBRF.
This station is always fantastic to film at so I do highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't been here before.
My next station is York.
You can now find me on Facebook through the group Tornado922, there you will find regular updates, videos and photos from all of my goings on throughout 2016
Peterborough is an amazing station, this is a perfect film Jarred, faultless, like from me as always Jarred, keep up the good work
Thanks very much mate I'm glad you enjoyed watching this. I love filming at this station
FYI, Greater Anglia uses this station as a terminus from Ipswich! :-)
I know I just completely forgot hahaha, I didn't even see them during my time here
I think they're every 2 hours, that's probably why! :-)
loved it as always :)
thanks very much :)
Aaaaaaand with an almighty thud... love it!
Josh Robbins He's so clever, it's like he's prompting the freight train to make the thud at the right time.
Well I have my ways with freight trains hahaha
Yes it seems that way
a pleasure as always thankyou very much :)
thanks very much for saying so :)
@7.56 Reminds me of the 2010 visit i made to the UK i was heading back to London after spending a couple of days in York and how all trains heading to Kings Cross were delayed caused by signalling issues at Darlington.Though my of the two trains there and back from York i liked the HST i took up to York partly because of the interior partly because of this one only calling at Peterborough this particular HST was working The Northern Lights service to Aberdeen.
I am so glad you finally made to my home station and you actually picked a very good spot for videos
Your very welcome, I love filming at this station I come here every year
Great video I love the east cast mainline and great videos
Thanks very much the ECML is definitely one of the best lines to film on
Sharks Rule and one of my fav stations is Peterborough because there is lots of action!!!!!
The GC 180 numbers are at the front, quite low down on the couplers' electrical connection covers. Small white numbers, often dirty or sometimes completely hidden by a bag covering the entire coupler.
Righteo thanks very much for letting me know, I'll keep a look out
Jarred take the last two numbers from the coach numbers and that gives you the whole set number if there are going slow enough to catch them
Numbers on Grand Central Adelantes are either on the front couplers at the end of the units or on the side of each vehicle. The rule is it will be 180 1??, the last two numbers are the last two on the vehicle numbers.
The GC is 180101 doing a service from Bradford Interchange 1A63. The Grand Central Adelenate/Zephyr were so easy for me cause of the sticker/name plate on the train to which number it is but some of them don't have one most likely 180101 don't have the name of it. Same with the voyagers is hard to get numbers.
This is my future hometown and home station
Great video again bud :)
thanks very much mate
Tornado922 i love your vids
Great Video, always lots to see at Peterborough :)
thanks very much mate, I love filming at Peterborough
Last night I had hell on the WCML. I wanted to get a train from Harrow & Wealdstone to Hemel Hempstead but no I there platform alterations so I had to cross a platform then get on a train to Watford junction to arrive at platform at to then cross to platform 6 wait twenty minutes to get a packed train to Hemel Hempstead where there were no cabs FFS
That certainly sounds like an eventful evening you've had there
I live in Glasgow and trying to get to Lockerbie, my pendolino there was alright, then my transpeninne service to Lockerbie, which was 20 minutes delayed, and my train back was cancelled so rip me...
Anyway skip a few hours and I’m back in the station, and see our train is delayed by a hour... so my cancelled train was pointless anyway lmao
Hey hey my hometown, was hoping to see 91111 as I normally see her in you clips. Most enjoyed though :-)
I was hoping to see her aswell but sadly it wasn't to be hello its chloe jade xxx
I was hoping that I would catch that aswell. Hopefully next time I'll catch her when I'm near the ECML
And not far from Peterborough is the Junction to Stamford and the Junction for the Joint line to Doncaster via Spalding,Sleaford and Lincoln
Ill be going up there later this year
Great video 😀😀
Thanks very much :)
Ended up here for about 30 mins yesterday and because of all the closures, it was strange seeing VTEC services waiting to start service there xD
That would really confuse me if I were to see that
Aha! It was reduced service at least
fantastic video Thier :)
Thanks very much :)
High quality video!
thanks very much
Tornado922 No problem!
Great video mate
thanks very much mate
The trains at Peterborough are LNER grand central hull trains great northern thamslink cross country east Midlands trains and greater Anglia and some buses
I know :)
Per your request where the set numbers are on the Grand Central 180s - they are exactly below the couplers
Thanks for letting me know :)
Normally Class 180 from GC requires looking at the numbers from the first coach, take two number and add a 180/1.
Okee dokes thanks very much
love your comdey moments makes me laugh :)
I like to add something different to my films when I can
Great vid
I'm glad you enjoyed it
There u go mate, i gave u ur 100th like!
Thanks very much it's greatly appreciated
I really wanna go to Peterborough and maybe ride on Virgin Trains East Coast London to Edinburgh and back.
Well if you get the opportunity then I do highly recommend it
Tornado922 I really hope I do
Jarred if there going slow take the last 3 numbers of the coach and then subtract 800 then that would give you the set number
lovely thanks very much for letting me knowx
I mean like the 387s are just as modern as the class 700s and we just had them from Thameslink
The 387's are going to be running every service on the ECML along with the 700's at some stage. The 365's will be going off lease and put in storage somewhere
Tornado922 thank you so much thought it was going to be a nightmare because you know me I like my 387s and it nice for them to run with the class 700s because they are both modern and they are both wonderful trains. I don't care about the 365s because they aren't that nice.
Great video, my friend. It was great to see what Peterborough station has become. We lived nearby from 1969 to 73. That was when they reduced the sharp curve through the station for higher speeds. One point: are the ECML Virgins a slightly orange colour or was it an optical illusion? I have always seen Virgins as bright red.
thank you very much for saying so, I've seen films from here where the station looked completely different. I love coming here, I think it may have been the camera there as the livery is a bright red
How would you tornado get there from Leighton
You would either have to get a bus from Leighton Buzzard to Milton Keynes where you would then need to catch another bus to Peterborough. Or you can drive. If you wanted to get the train then you would have to go to London Euston then walk or get the tube to Kings Cross and catch either a VTEC service or Great Northern
I'm happy we have 387s
I think they are getting replaced with new class 700's
Why we just got them 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😡😡😡😡😡😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
There on the couplings on the 180 grand Central trains
Thanks
4 future vids maybe have text at the bottom of the screen 4 each train saying where it is going and coming from, the train number and the train company.
I use commentary throughout my vids so I have no need for subtitles :)
Fair enough, by the way u have the best train on ur avatar. Pendolino Hype!
Good vid
thanks very much
Ok it just seems like there are more Edinburgh services than Leeds services
Leeds is their busiest service that they operate, obviously their flagship service is the Edinburgh train.
Do trainspotting at every single station
Are you going to give me the money in order to do this????
So Peterborough has only 1 Leeds service an hour and 2 Edinburgh services an hour. Why less trains going to Leeds than Edinburgh?
There are two trains every hour to Leeds but only 1 will call at Peterborough
+Tornado922 that's right while the other leeds service will go via Grantham and stevenage then on to Doncaster Wakefield and finally leeds
Do Great Northern's go to Newcastle or anywhere more up north instead of terminating at Peterborough?
Nope they purely run from Kings Cross to Peterborough
They run from Peterborough to London Kings Cross, thens ometimes they can go to Cambridge, Ely.
+Trainspotting Junction not forgetting kings Lynn aswell
Are you going to be filming at retford this year?
I wouldn't have thought so, I didn't really enjoy it there
Oh right ok, great vid btw
Ah yes just read the description of your video there, sorry!
What's this years series swml? If so I would recommend Richmond
That's not SWML, that's the Reading Line
JWRailways is it? Still gets called by south west trains 707s/Ferraris tho
Yes it is, SWML is London Waterloo to Weymouth via Woking, Farnborough, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton and Bournemouth, with branches such as the Reading line via Richmond, Twickenham, Staines and Winnersh, and the Portsmouth Direct Line via Guildford, Haslemere, Petersfield and Havant.
This years series will be the Chiltern Mainline
Tornado922 oh ok nice might catch the 121 at princes risbourgh
we have a new 90 90039 out now
I've heard, I'll be keeping a lookout for her
haha east midland train service to kings cross annoucee almost made the mistake
it did make me chuckle
class 180 is not first hull trains its has change to hull trains
I have to admit I did think that when I saw them that day
Cool
Why i mean this is ridiculous someone needs to talk to the great Northern staff
They wouldn't have a say on the matter, it has nothing to do with them
what's after york
William Clarke Doncaster
Yeah its Doncaster or if you're going north Northallerton or Thirsk
You are good to be a meme 0:40
LuisRoc2 ur a meme
I recon the class 365s sound like Ferrari's
Yeah I can see that
Why ferraris
Inverness
U are a train spotter
Yes I am
ARE YOU DUMB OF COURSE HE'S A TRAINSPOTTER
