My only problem is that I cannot talk fluently and cannot come up with the word immediately so I have to take a pause. I am good at grammar and spelling, but not speaking. Maybe because I stutter when I speak because of nervousness. Well, practice makes perfect. Keep up the good work.

In my opinion, the key to success in learning languages is input. listening and reading a lot is good for your success in learning languages. Tons of listening and reading. Imitate native English speaks' pronunciation perfectly. learning language like a baby is efficient.

I'm a Filipino and our native language is Filipino also known as Tagalog. Not to brag or boast, we are the call center capital of the world and ranked first in terms of business English, we also have great numerous universities here for foreign students that offers English study. Foreign clients come here to outsource their businesses in this country they have confident that we can handle their accounts well, these clients are Australians, Canadians, Americans and British. We did not undergo any professional training on accents or fluency we only have English subject in school. What I'm trying to say is for you to be understood by your corespondents, native or non native speakers all you need to do is to have fluency and neutralized English accent by immersing yourself to English and embrace it, by doing these things you will eventually acquire accents of different native speakers and make it neutral. Your tongue will be versatile. Trust me I'm speaking by experience, in my case I only exposed my ears to English songs, movies, talk, videos etc and it only took 2 months for me to earn the fluency and neutral accent that I need. If you want to have rich vocabulary then reading will help you.
mejed mdimagh I think that's a great idea, but I also know that technology is a great tool for learners. With my program I am able to reach many students from 65 different countries who don't live in the US or Canada and see impressive improvement. On average I see 75-80% improvement in my student's pronunciation. It's not hard, it just takes consistency. :)

I knew a guy from Kenya and when he learned English he learned the accent. He spoke very good English with the correct English accent. What was funny is when he spoke to his African buddies he had that Kenyan accent.

Besides, there is a lot of youtube channel out there who usually make hangout video with 4 or 5 people from different part of the world and upload it. But the problem is they usually discuss about a certain topics (like Alien, Extraterrestrial, Ancient Civilization, Different planet, Politics and so on)...so with my little knowledge I can't make that conversation long. And at the end I turn into a good listener. :-| There's some English speaking apps out there in app store, I tried with one. That was good, but that wasn't free. So after their free trial I have to move on. :-/

If you want to sound American then start with the rule "always show your teeth" that bring already quite an American sound. Here, miss video is quite a striking example. British English is the opposite: "keep your lips together and unmoving as much as possible". Don't take these rules too literally, of course. They are only meant to bring in a new general mouth position from which to form the vowels.
