Jim, 12 years ago my kids and I attended a workshop with you in San Diego where you helped us assemble your solar cooker. Back then we had to stick the many reflective tape strips by hand on the inside! I still have the cooker, it is still in perfect condition, and it’s still one of my favorite things. It makes the best, moist, herbed chicken breasts. Good to see you here on TH-cam 😊

Thanks! Those workshops were so much fun. Energizing and Motivating. I appreciate you and all the folks who attended and shared. Thanks!

Thank you for an updated assembly video. Wish I had thought about using a rolling pin, when I put mine together. Would definitely have made getting the folds flattened quickly. While your prior video was invaluable to me to get mine put together correctly, this one is even better, IMO.

I just received mine. So cool! I think Jim would be the most interesting guy to have dinner with. I’d love to pick his brain.

I bought one and will be cooking brats and onions on the beach. I really wish you’d offer a suitable pot/pan with it.

Just ordered your kit and it arrived today. After 100 days of sun, wouldn't you know, its cloudy. I often have the same problem with telescopes.
I must say the design is top notch and the kit is well made. Thanks for the tips and can't wait to start a meal with it.

Just made No Knead Bread today. Came out great! While it doesn’t get brown and crusty, the inside “crumb” was perfection. Clear So CA skies, 87 high, in at 11am, done by 2pm. Used cooking bag and (preheated 30 minutes in Sol Cooker) lidded dark pot. I do have a photo I can share.

Yes, please share. For browning I sometimes will put a "grill mat" over the bread a few minutes before it is done. This is a very powerful method of putting heat directly onto the top of your bread, so watch it and don't let it burn. BBQ grill mat is available in the BBQ section of Lowes, or online. They are food safe. Available in black or copper. Use the black.

@@allseasonsolarcooker3979 I will have to check that mat out! I emailed a couple of photos to you yesterday. 👍🏻

Nice video, I just ordered one via Amazon. Actually seeing the person who designed and makes the oven was a deciding factor for me, as well as the many TH-cam videos on it.

I just finished watching the assembly of the all seasons solar cooker. I’m not necessarily known as the brightest light on the block, and I love doing things the easy way, rather than trying to figure out a paper full of diagrams.
I think the only way your cooker could be any better [after looking at many different solar cookers yours is my favorite] would be to put it on some type of disc mount like some TV antenna discs.
It would be so much easier to move around and adjust for the sun shadow. I love what you have created so beautifully,… so much that I am going to buy one! Thanks for the video.

Are used to put them on a Lazy Susan but any breeze would turn them away, so I just put them on a table now and they’re fairly easy to turn. Thanks for thinking of my cooker

Thanks for the new assembly video. Helped me ensure that mine, which arrived a week ago, is properly put together. I hope you make more videos on using and cooking with it. I've been solar cooking for a few years now with the All-American Sun Oven, which I love. But I wanted to try yours because of the larger cooking space and, well, because I wanted another solar oven. I've used it several times so far, and I'm thrilled that I bought it. I'm still getting used to focusing it correctly. Have cooked lamb, beef, eggs, rice, potatoes and peppers. I'm in Albuquerque which gets sun year-round, so I'm looking forward to using it often. So far I've gotten it up to 250 degrees. Does that sound about right? Thanks.

While cooking in the So Cal smog, 230 is what I normally get. In your location, with the clean air and higher elevation, you will do better. How you record your temperature makes a huge difference. While cooking, if using an oven thermometer, you will see a combined temperature of the cold food and the cooking environment. (this is why your regular oven turns on even after preheating - the cold food reduces the temperature in the oven compartment. To see much higher temperatures, just put the oven thermometer in an empty pot. Of course this is meaningless as the temp drops as soon as the food goes in. In all my years of experimenting, my highest recorded temperature was 335 in a black jar filled with cooking oil. The goal is cooked food and it sounds like you are doing very well.
