I have been using this technique for 2 days before going to bed. Results: I have slept 2 nights in row, with no pain and no pain meds. So last night I forgot to do it. Today the tightness and pain is incredible. I won't forget tonight.

Did you do the baby positions or the balloon blow up (or both)? Did the results last?

I did the baby positions. As long as I did them, the pain was gone. I slowly fell off the horse. Till I forgot about them. Tonight, I saw the comment. So, I did the happy baby. Too tired for the others. I will start back tomorrow. 🤞🏽and by some balloons. 🎈

I loved this. I've been teaching Pilates for 18 years, so I totally understand the importance of breathing right. I also knew that heart rate variability has a very close association with heart disease risk, but I've never seen the two put together like this. Massive light bulb moment, thanks so much. Excellently presented.

Excellent! I've been recovering from an overwhelming illness for 2.5 years. I am just realizing how much this kind of therapy has contributed to my apparent recovery. Just wanted to encourage you to pay attention to your breath. You can recover from most anything. The sympathetic overdrive is probably the biggest reason I (and many others) got sick.

Thank you India for giving those wonderful effective breathing techniques to us. The Western World started studying them only in the last 30 years, but breathing exercises are used as part of Physiotherapy for people with Asthma and other respiratory deseases in Europe since long ago.

Some good info in this talk, if a bit over-simplified. Nose breathing: crucial, can't be overemphasized. The function of heart rate variability and sympathetic/parasympathetic balance is best understood as a function of respiratory sinus arrhythmia and the vagus nerve. But the the most egregious mistake: that deep breathing will enhance parasympathetic tone. Soft gentle breathing is the key. It's a contradiction to say that we can calm sympathetic tone with deep breathing.

I did deep breathing exercises until I suffered a brain stem stroke. Shut my throat 80%, killed 1/4 of my tongue, and left me with the whole area paralyzed. Just getting some breath in is huge for me now. But I battle on 🤗

Did this happen because of holding your breath in too long?

Your suffering something completely unrelated to breath work. Your insulin issues are most likely chronic if u experienced this

He puts up limitations from the beginning. We can go a LOT longer without food or water. Ignorance. Go within yourself. Limitations are all we were ever taught. I healed myself & we can do ANYTHING. Depression broken ankle that NVR healed right & back injury. I went inside of myself & used cold air breathing

He is talking about nadi shodhan pranayama, thousands of year old technique from India, search youtube and you will get more details, I wish he could have said that somewhere...

This is the beauty of the human body and how varied schools of thought often reach the same conclusions through alternative approaches. I found the power of breath not through yoga or pranayama, however, my results lead me to yoga, so I am a backdoor Yogi, and somebody that perhaps can help the non-practicing world explore the most powerful lessons of yoga much the way I found them, and through a new lens :)

His 'audience' is not people who know or practice pranayama, because that would make the whole presentation redundant; He is trying to reach new minds. That being said he could have said more about pranayama and yoga which is infinitely interesting, but hey I learned a thing or two :)
