When they were recording Wish You Were Here, everyone in the band had a go at trying to sing this song. No one could deliver the lyrics in a way that worked. Eventually the band asked their friend, Roy Harper, who was hanging out in the studio, to try and sing the song. Roy's vocals are the ones you hear on the final recording. Roger Waters still believes his original vocal track was the best attempt (and you can hear his version here: th-cam.com/video/MgQRt6fn-LY/w-d-xo.html). But that's just Roger for you. Still bitter about it to this day.
@@johngalantini6910 He didn't say that. He didn't like the way he sang. He said that he wished he persuaded more and tried more because he now thinks that I could've come out the way he wanted. He just didn't like the way it ended up. What is wrong with that? An artist wanting to get his songs to sound the way he wants them to sound. I really think that Roy nailed it perfectly, but I respect Roger's opinion, since he is the one who wrote the song.
Great! Thank you!
En 2016 lo escuché y es tan rico fumar cigarro más está enorme canción , de lo mejor del maestro waters
He can actually sing on this key

John Galantini common knowledge bro
Well it is like some 44 years ago he wrote it. And it didn't even make the record back then, for some stupid reason, but anyway...
