    I've had 3 Corollas a 71 TE20, a 77 KE30, and an 87 AE86 which I dearly miss and really wish I had back. In fact I wish I had them all back. All I've ever driven are Toyotas

    • @zenkitrueno6787
      @zenkitrueno6787 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Literally everyone in this comment is wrong. The GT-S IS an AE86. The United States received two versions of the AE86. The GT-S with a 4A-GE, and the SR5 with a 4A-C. We received the Trueno model with the option of a Coupe or Hatch. Japan had many different versions, including a GT-V, GT-APEX, SR, SE, XL, etc. Takumi had a Zenki Trueno Hatchback.

      I believe this is limited to the US/Canada market. And only one example per year.
      If it included the variants plus JDM, South American, European, Asian, and Australian versions, the video would be over an hour long. Though interesting.

    I owned a '74 Corolla SR5, a '94 Corolla sedan, and a '90 Corolla coupe. My '74 was nasty-wild Isky cam, headers, 4-barrel, widened SR5 rims out back 13x5 w/ beauty rings. I miss her.

      I had a 77 KE30 with a transplanted motor from my 71TE,. 2T-C bored .030 over due to scarred cylinder wall, Cannnon Inductions Sytems camshaft, Clifford header, Weber 32/36. Fun fun machine right? Remember that nasty idle from the big cam. Back when I had mine people flipped when they heard it.

    the 1st generation Corolla, known as KE 10, came out in 67 I think. I was 18 in 1968 and my father gave me a brand new 2 door KE 10 Corolla for my high school graduation gift on April 1968. It was Fife Red with beige seats. Loved that little car, so well built. Only one problem, the hood when opened rested on a small latch and oftentimes I would forget to release it so the hood can come down. But the latch (on the right rear of the hood could not release on its own thus pulling the hood down wound bend the side of the hood which would then need straightening. Toyota should have just installed a long thin metal rod to hold the hood up, and then lift the hood to remove the stick to lower it back in place.

    My grandfather got a '68 Corolla in 1968 when it was new. We've never had a problem with it and it starts up every time. Has 600K km on the odometer.

      So glad someone agrees on this! I've seen many comments and forums which have said that design looks bad and is one of the worst generations. I don't know, but it looks really good! 👌

      Ikr 10th gen was good looking and it also did away with the bubbly look the 9th gen had. Looking at the transition from 8th gen to 9th is jarring because of how gigantic it looks in comparison.
