Hello from France. I'm struggling with a vicious breakdown on a Terror 500 head. A sudden drop in volume. I thought it was a capacitor at the end of its life. I changed some but the problem persisted. Always this low volume and when switching on I have to wait a good 2 minutes for a sound to arrive. On the amp side when I plug in an instrument on the return side the amp responds normally. So I turned to the pre amp. Lately I decided to do some measurements (Which I should have done in the first place...) And on the output of the 7806 I got 3.5v. I deduced that the AX7s were not well powered, hence the low amp volume. I desoldered the 7806 for the tester off and it works normally. After resoldering it to the card I found my 6.3v for a few seconds and when I reconnected the fan my voltage went back down to 3.5v. What a pitiful breakdown... The welds were also checked. Do you have any suggestions for me to find the problem? I thank you in advance for this. Mr Duez Daniel
Thanks for explaining the power section. Very interesting!!
