This is truly a wonderful song Emma as it creates a such a warm and nostalgic feeling inside me. The very realistic message of two dear friends who are very comfortable with each other, but haven’t connected in a while blends so perfectly with the soft, attractive melody. However, it most certainly demands a artist who can deliver it in a natural, believable way. And you accomplish this so sweetly. Listening to you work your usual magic with this song, I can’t escape the feeling that you have just called me to spend some time together. And that is just sooo nice. And jumping an octave on the two closing, “I’d really love to see you tonights” was a very creative touch; difficult to pull off, but you nailed it. Thank you very much Emma for this gift that I get to enjoy over, and over, and over again. 🌷🤗🌷
Oh My God, it's the first time I have seen a woman singing this Beautiful Romantic Icon and it's just..... AWESOME!!!!!!!. She sounds like Karen Carpenter, just so Gorgeous, she is so Beautiful and her voice is so beautiful and angelical
OK, now THIS is what I'm talking about!!! Aside from the dance remix this is the BEST cover of this song. I love this! I'm making a mix of this song and I'm gonna include this version in it somewhere. VERY GOOD!!! Lovely and talented!!!
That was absolutely beautiful and I was totally blown away at the end! The voice of an angel! Stage presence was perfect, eye contact with the camera was perfect and ended perfect.
Nailed it, Emma!! My sister used to play this song alot! I even have this England Dan & John Ford Coley CD! You did such a marvelous job on this!! From your new #1 fan - Ben!!!
I fell in love with Dan and John's music as a teenager in the late seventies, and still listen to them regularly. "Dowdy Ferry Road" is one of the most underrated albums of all time. This music is over forty years old, and it's still great. In forty years, I seriously doubt that any of the current AutoTune, ProTools cut and paste, computer generated garbage that passes for music today will be around. And wow, what a voice Emma has. Voices like that are rare and memorable. This is one of the few ED&JFC covers I've heard that I actually like.
@@herrguru4264 There is also full instrumentation and background vocals. Clearly, she is either using a backing track, or programmed accompaniment on her keyboard. That's common. My father made a living as a one-man act for decades using keyboards to create the sound of a full band with orchestra.
@@ExSkyCyclePilot that is true, and I respect your dads respectable gig. *But the difference between your dad and her is... your dad actually knew how to play piano* (with full instrumentation, full band with orchestra, background vocals and backing tracks). *She clearly doesnt.* I`m a piano teacher, and dont think I have ever seen a video on TH-cam of a left hand doing the complete opposite of what the audio is playing.
@@herrguru4264 I'm 61, and have played piano most of my life. I have considerable classical training, and countless years of playing pop/rock/country in various groups, and I hear every note she is playing on both hands, and see nothing wrong with the way she plays this piece. The arpeggios you hear are probably in the backing track she is using. I don't understand your criticism.
@@ExSkyCyclePilot nice biography but completely irrelevant. could also be that you`re 61 years old and deaf, go see a doctor, grandpa. *0:56** min the recording is playing an arppegio in the left hand, but her left hand is a simple chord.* *If you are unable to see that, then that means you`re just a shit musician or you need get a refund from your "classical piano training".* She clearly says that this is a cover meaning... that the instrument that she is playing... she is playing herself. She didnt say its a recording. *She said its a cover.* *For forks sake! Jeebus Forking Cripes.* This is whats wrong with this country. You cant call a spoon a spoon anymore. We have to pretend that a spoon is a spade, so that we dont hurt someones feelings.
