The neck 'dimple' is usually part of a 'volute' ...which means the headstock and neck are separate pieces. This is not a bad thing, it does not effect the tone and it is there as it strengthens the neck so if the guitar kisses the floor it will survive. There are priceless handmade guitars made this way. Some of these guitars are literally century's old.
White guitars with black hardware look great, even the P90's look far better in black. Harley Benton seem to be back on form with basic but good guitars at sensible prices. Thanks for a great review Tony.
Oh for god's sake! Now I have to run back home! Did you 'borrow' mine? Ha ha. 4 months in and I still have'nt got tired of it! Just changed tone pot's to linear.Kudo's to Thomman. Peace.
I really love this guitar so much! Got mine B stock for like $189 from Thomann. I have just upgraded the pickups to Seymour Duncan Vintage p90s as well as the wiring to a Gunstreet wiring harness. Might upgrade the tuners. The nut is solid.
Thinking of picking up one of these in the dirty mustard yellow color. Plan would be to just use an angle grinder to smooth out the sharp peaks of that bridge. Doesn't gotta look super pretty, just has to be smooth for palm muting.
This video made me get out my Les Paul Special. Love p90s. That’s a cool looking guitar Tony. At the end of the day it could be a cool modding platform if nothing else.
Thanks for the great review, Tony. I totally agree with you. The guitar plays and sounds great. Major issue seems to be the neck angle. Hence the high brigde, the low pickups etc. But who would go for a neck reset on a 190 Euro guitar? On my guitar the bridge and its saddles not only were sharp and uncomfortable as you pointed out. They also caused annoying buzz all over the neck. I first thought it was about the neck relief or maybe high frets but, no, it was probably the groves of the saddles being cut too wide. Sounded like a sitar effect. I had a spare Wikinson GTB bridge here and installed it. It works and the buzzing is gone as the sustain has improved. I purchased the guitar as a deco object and wanted to paint or draw on the satin white „primer“ finish. It is a serious instrument though. I‘m happy with it! Not sure the satin white model is out of stock already. There don‘t seem to be new ones at the moment. Some B-stock only? Anyways. Who wants one hurry up. The satin white looks and feels fantastic. Thanks again for your detailed review.
I have the HB sc custom ii black p90s and its a perfect guitar too. These roswell P90s are excellent no need for upgrade. This white probably will be my next guitar. Great review !!!!!
That white is very sharp. Great choice. That middle position tone has no right to be that good!!!! Woooow! Been eyeing the desert burst quilt top. Roswell made some nice Squier OEM's for the early CV VV series. Great stock tones. Great review thanks Tony 🎸
I immediately replaced the bridge with traditional wraparound and put some locking tuners on it and it was under 200 to do and it's my fav guitar it sounds like a beast.
The bridge pick-up generally outputs much hotter than the neck does. I watched a guy compare it to the Epiphone and a Gibson. The Epi and Gib were outputting at about 7 on each pick-up. The Harley bridge pick-up outputs at a 9, and the neck is a 7.
Hi, I would like to know your opinion between two guitars. ¿What do you prefer this HB SC-Special or HB SC-450 P90 GT? I know the last one is lower in quality, but much less money also. TY, and keep doing!!
16:22 ....that's the sound right there..I really want one so bad..especially this one, but they are a bitch to find in america..do you know anywhere I could look to find this, or any other HBs? The double cut is really the goal for me, but the SC is similar enough
Any bets how long Tony leaves the stock pickups in ? 😂 And if bridge height is a issue couldn't you either swap it out 4 a thinner version or if you're handy pull the bridge and route out the stud holes so it could go lower? Just a thought. Good review as always Tony! Thanks
Many loathe (hate) epiphone's longer tulip style headstock, while others still hate epi's newer inspired by gibson with the original style headstock. I enjoy my two epiphones. 🤗 I'll stick with my 2020 lp special epiphone.

Great to hear!
I laugh every time tony said "i like the pickups" it makes me wonder how long until he changes them lol
Only time will tell!
Should we take bets.😂

Thanks for the feedback. I am agree it’s a fun guitar to play!

You did a pretty good review of this guitar’s morphology. I think it plays well too.
That thing looked great and sounded even better!!!!!

This guitar is now sold out, Tony was right to say if you want one you need to be very
quick, the demand vs supply issues are still not resolved.

If the action is good on your guitar then the last thing you would do is get a lower saddle harness. The fix would be deeper screws for the pick-ups.

Good review as always Tony!
Thanks
Probably easier just to swap the bridge
Thank you very much for this review! How is the neck like?
It's good. Very comfortable.
Thank you very much !
Pick guard gives it somewhat of a Danelectro look.
Could those rings on posts be removed to lower bridge more?
I don’t think so but you could just put in a different bridge.
Alot of people go with the Music Lily or Wilkinson bridge on Amazon less than $20 for that. Bigger bridge=more sustain.
They are nice looking but why would I, a gigging player buy one ahead of a tried and tested cheapish guitar like a squire or epiphone.

for the high bridge situation, just screw down the bridge post and re-intonate. that's all.
You can't the stock bridge is too thick top to bottom to go down far enough.
@@addictedtogear wow didn't think of that way. I did that to my Gibson Jr tribute and I was able to screw down bit lower for the action.
Amaranth = Purpleheart, so this was likely tinted, otherwise it would be "purple".
"It has all you want in a single cut." -I want body contours. lol
" and a carved top"?
First world problems!! Lol
Make your own, nobody's gonna see them when you play it, sandpaper block and away you go, great arm workout too, satin White paint isnt hard to find.
I have a Bc Rich warlock with the same bridge on it and it was the first thing i changed. I didn't like it for the same exact reasons.
It is a Graphite nut.
Can you loose those ugly adjustment screws on the bridge.? Look awkward sure I'd catch my hand on them.
For sure. They could of used smaller allen screws like on a real lightning wrap around bridge.
Are the frets stainless steel?
No they are not.
I'm convinced P90's are the best pickups ever
they are.
The only pickups that beat them are Leo Fenders MFD pickups on the ASAT Special
nice guitar but I love the shirt!!!!!!!!
I got a crap HB Amarok a year and a half ago and an even worse Thomann CS agent. Never again.
I hope Floria at Thomann contracts HPV.
That comment is funny and sad at the same time!
I would ditch the pickguard. P-90s look better without it.
you talk too much
Yesssss
