Very interesting video, Steve! I am helping my mate with his model railway, which uses the NCE Powercab system - which I have to say, I find a little intimidating! With a tablet and Bluetooth decoder-fitted loco , it really opens options up. DCC is still a dark art for us both. I don’t have a layout myself, but have more locos in my fleet than my mate, which amuses me no end! Keep up the good work, Sir! Best wishes from Wirral.
Great video, Steve. I think you've sold me on at least trying this system out. I have a few locos that I'd like to have as DCC eventually, so when I can afford it, I'll give one a go, probably my GP15-1.
I like the sound of this system. Programming a loco looks a breeze. I'm tempted to get one of these. The only thing I find with using a Pad/Mobile is there is no "feel" when controlling the loco. I have to keep looking at the mobile when operating. I find this awkward, especially when switching. I would use the Tablet to programme the loco, then use my Wifi throttle as normal. I am very impressed with it though.
Hi there. I do agree with you, there is less feel for it with the tablet/phone interface. However, as you noted, the programming is a breeze and far less fiddly than with a controller. It is a bit like JMRI in that respect. I like that it is fully DCC compatible and you can use it with other power sources such as a battery. This may be the way forward. I hear that Hornby's offering is similar but nowhere near as versatile.

@@thebritishrailroader I am quite taken by it. I have a Genset that I could try one out on.
@csxrensville5105 and luckily Soundtraxx do the Genset sounds, I think it is on their Baldwin and other sound set (though please check)
I can see this being something that Dylan may contemplate as he gets older ...cheers James 🙂👍
@@DYLINGTONMODELRAILWAY he probably will. The latest decoders made by Hornby have this type of functionality
