    A little bit about us for anybody that may be interested. We have worked together for about 12 years, first as senior energy experts for a very large national company and for the last 8 years we have been doing lofts. I do youtube to help people and for entertainment for others, it costs me quite a bit of money with cameras, software and time editing etc. Please consider joining as we will put this money back into the channel.

    When you do this work just to create a storage space, are the new added cross beam timbers attached to anything, or do they literally just sit on the existing ceiling joists to create space for insulation?

    amazing, how are you securing the CLS to the older joists. Screw down from the top or from the side?

    Great channel. Wanting to do this at my new house. In my old house the builder said the existing joists are only strong enough to hold the ceiling below and made a new floor slightly above by having a big length of timber bolted to the wall where it meets the neighbours and then a number of joist hangers and new joists attached to make a new frame. Then laid green floorboards on top. Which method is best for me. Does the method you use add weight to existing joists. Forgive my ignorance I am a complete DIYer with no knowledge

    Sorry, i have another question, how do you determine what size CLS to use, i believe you have used for 89mm & 63mm in videos?

    • @MrBish11
      @MrBish11  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on ceiling height and amount of insulation already in the loft.
