We use a coleman dual fuel camp stove till we get our house built. The good thing about the dual fuel camp stove is that you can store gas at the homestead easily and do not need to go refill your propane tank in the last minute rush to get dinner made. Also for us here propane is more expensive than unleaded.
We have an abundance of wood here and we heat our cabin with a wood stove we brought from the former USA. Here in chile they make very nice soap stone insulated cook and wood stoves which we will put in our new house as well. You will see wood stoves for heat and cooking here even in million dollar houses here because wood is so cheap and because of the byproduct of living on a farm in the southern part of Chile. Nice vid.
Hey do y'all grill out? Lets see some MAN style cooking, also I would like to see this sun oven in operation. Jim

hey guys that looks great for small meals and hopefully it works well for you guys. I did notice in one of your other videos when you were doing some wood framing that the drill head was kinda skipping in the screw head. I do a lot of wood framing and will post a video soon abour the shed I built. I use either square drive screws or #3 phillips drive with a square bit and they never skip or strip out. Makes things much easier. In truth the #3 phillips with the square drive will jump every now and then but it is much harder to strip out the screw. I also use an impact cordless driver. Anyway I am not trolling or trying to be negative just thought i would share what works well for me. Thanks for the videos and keep them coming.

Good eye! Alyssas drilling has been improving immensely. She's just never run one before! Add that to our B And D drill being dead made it hard for her to learn. Now we're using a torx screw with an impact driver and unless the head is jammed with dirt, zero skips. She's a much happier driller now!

Have you ever thought about putting together a rocket stove? I saw that you got a bunch of bricks, and their simple to put together no cement needed! There's videos all over the interwebs that show how to make one. You could cook on it and clean up all the little sticks and twigs that you can find. I built one just for fun and its very handy to have. I love y'all's videos and hope to do this myself "one day" Thanks

+JJw650 jones We haven't felt the need to build one yet as our wood stove is doing just fine for cooking, but it would be fun to experiment with one day. It's always great to have multiple cooking options! Glad you are enjoying our videos, thanks for watching!

Well, I made this comment before seeing some of y'all's other videos, and I think another person said about thing, Sorry about that. I just subed couple days ago, and I look forward to seeing more videos!

This is exactly what I thought. The ability to produce a lot of heat from essentially twigs is awesome.

Interesting use of a solar vacuum tube. So use to just seeing them used for heating water.

If you got cast iron why not build a fire pit and go to town with that? You can do most anything in a dutch oven too

If you are using your propane to keep the trailer warm for the most part you may want to look into getting a 100 lb tank or even two of them. Then you can keep both 20lb tanks a spares for when you run out

    • @purelivingforlife
      @purelivingforlife  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+2012spacetraveler We did look into getting larger tanks but the smaller ones are lasting us quite a while and we definitely don't want to be living in our RV for TOO long, so we figured we'd save the money for more permanent items around our homestead for the time being. Of course, we'll see how we hold up this winter! The idea is that our wood stove will do most of the work and we'll only need propane for heating to bump the inside up a few degrees. Again, we'll see how it pans out.

The shape seems to recommend french bread with pizza stuff on it.

Square head screw is called a Robertson . That's what is primarily used in Canada . Don't see many Philips screws around here. Torx screw head is the next best thing . Glad you got rid of that black & decker . An impact driver is certainly the way to go . Easy in and out .Dual fuel stoves and lanterns are no good in Canada . I wanted to get a lantern from Cabelas and they said the lantern is not compatible with Canadian gasoline . Go figure .

Enjoyed this video. At some point you guys might want to check out Billy Rioux's outdoor oven build. He is on youtube and really enjoys his outdoor oven.

Surely you have a Big and Small Dutch oven... YOU HAVE to have a Dutch oven... Put it in and 2 hrs its done not working over it at all.. I use it in my oven everyday and outside with coals...

need to remove the warning label from the tray.

+Bobby Allen Did this on round two of cooking with the stove! But in case you were wondering... it still cooks great with the label on! The label should say "warning: please remove this label" haha

+Pure Living for Life The issue is removing the label once it is baked on.
