It wasn’t to sell some fancy toy transformation gimmicks but to tell a story with high stakes involved. Mebius is also another great example. It was meant to celebrate the classic era of ultra series showing a character grow and become a great hero like his brothers before him. A lot of newer ones since Ginga mainly have toys as a plot device to transform. I have watched X and do own it but it gets annoying how it was to show new cards and turning monsters into toys. It is a good series just wished that toys wasn’t the plot device. That’s why I say a lot these new ultra series have been made to mostly sell toys. The toys that came out during the series only sold toys on monsters that might be popular.

We really need a movie, or limited Dyna II series, that explains what happened after Dyna got sucked into that wormhole - and now, that explains how he and Shin survived, where is Shin actually *living* now, and why he hasn't returned home (until now), nor informed his SuperGUTS teammates that he was alive and well. He does do that for Taiga right away, but one has to wonder why neither Dyna nor Zero took Taiga home. And, finally, how does this get rectified so that Shin gets his happy retirement, and Zero can truly move forward? Good movie, and a welcome one!

Possibly because he wanted to see a world that had taken an alternative path? I'm still concerned that there was a fifteen-year gap between when Shin Asuka as Dyna got sucked down the dying(?) GrandSphere's wormhole - and his brief return to his home universe to explain Taiga's status. Asuka is still clearly proud of his military service (quite rightly so), but also desires human contact, since he was in human form during his time on the Team U world. However, when he returned home, he came in "light form" and stated he would wait for his former teammates to catch up with him. My suspicion is that he no longer wants to return to the TPC military service, but would be quite happy if his friends left that service to explore as well. That, a permanent reunion with the SuperGUTS crew, would truly re-set *Shin Asuka* back to the happy ending given to every other Ultra host - reunited victorious, alive, and well with his teammates. Even if everyone else went their separate ways at the end ... But still had reunions available to them. Of course, it took him eleven years to be confirmed alive, and then about four more to return home - I wonder, is this possibly the first time an evil alien has done, inadvertently, I am quite sure, a good deed? Finally, I have to point out that none of this occurred until after there was new leadership in town ...
Everything has already been explained. If anything, Dyna is Tsuburaya's most updated previous generation Ultra we have. iirc this movie takes place right after Zero's first movie, which is where he first met Dyna, and later as Asuka on M78 at the end of the movie. Then Dyna pretty much do what hes been doing since his series ends, travelling the multiverse (how he got to M78 in the first place) and transcending space and time. The movie outright shows Dyna opening a portal of his own, and to concrete this, in the recently ended series Decker, Dyna/Asuka appeared out of his own portal to save Decker.

No other Ultras can steal the show like Dyna did. That emotional scene (And other scenes of Asuka, or scenes ABOUT Asuka throughout the stories) audience forgot about the fact that Zero is supposed to be the main Ultra of the movie. Judging from marketing materials. poster and toys, Zero is supposed to be the main Ultra. After watching the show, makes us wonder, was it really Dyna or Zero the main Ultra, or both? One main Ultra for story (Dyna) and one main Ultra for fight scene (Zero)? Tiga is super popular but he never stole the show in TD and TDG movies, like the whole time we still know clearly it was Dyna and Gaia's movie. Tiga was the main Ultra in 8 Brothers, yes, but it was his show, he is the main Ultra, but not to the point that we would temporarily forget about the other 7 Ultras, unlike Dyna in this movie, like nothing else matters but only Dyna / Asuka, including other Ultras in the show, they temporarily became irrelevant. (Sorry Cosmos no offense, but you are just there randomly in the movie, it is not your fault, but because the original plot was Dyna+Zero= Saga, Cosmos+Justice (host = female Team U leader) = Legend, Mebius+Ultra Brothers = Infinity VS Hyper Zetton who ate BOTH Sphere (from Dyna) and Chaos Header (from Cosmos) Cosmos wanted to purify him/her again just like in Cosmos' TV final ep, thats why he had always fought in Luna Mode, and then he used a purifying "palm" technique to fight Hyper Zetton, but sadly the Chaos Header plot was canceled, and so...Cosmos is just there with no purpose... and Saga become a fusion of three instead of just Dyna and Zero, I mean look at their body colors, they match: upper red+ lower blue and upper blue and lower red, and their personalities and fighting style match perfectly too)

I wonder what happened to this quality of Ultraman... Now, don't get me wrong, most of the Ultraman have a million forms and the transformation devices look gimmicky. The new generation is great, but there are things that make the older version of Ultraman movies more likeable. The PTSD and mature topics are utilized more beautifully in the older ones. The transformation devices look more toy-ish than some legendary artifacts. Every Ultraman now has a super bulky armor. And yes, there are good things, but now what I specifically didn't like is the fact that they are making youtube movies instead of actual movies.
