Thank you and congratulations to all the performers, who brought out the plangent qualities of Purcell’s amazing abilities in using minor mode music to send icy chills down the spine … which contrasts beautifully with his triumphantly jubilant and assertive major-key writing … I loved too the “incredible graces” of the vocal soloists! AND the recording is excellent too: in fact probably the best performance to date!
