My granddaughter asked me to knit theHarry Styles cardigan made in squares. It's a great idea but I can hardly knit the purl stitch. Your explanations are very clear, thanks from the quarantine in Buenos Aires , Argentina.
@@h8urself i have finished it! It was lots of fun and Margarita wears it day and night. I'm sure you'll feel great for having achieved to make it. And it's good "brain soothing" therapy.
So happy to find an actual beginner tutorial. I’m convinced every other tutorial on TH-cam is designed to rub in your face how much better at knitting they are than you 😂
Thank for this fabulous tutorial. I'm 52 and a complete beginner and have taken ages to build up the courage to start knitting. With your clear, no nonsense, no fuss, teaching I was thrilled to be casting on and knitting both pearl and knit stitches within less than half an hour! I can see how much practice it's going to take to get the stitches neat and regular but even so, I'm now motivated to continue so thank you!
I'm a beginning knitter and consulted the book in the "Learn to Knit Kit" as well as several other TH-cam channels before stumbling upon yours. Your videos are the best I've come across and have helped tremendously. Thank you so much!!
OMG Yes! I got it. I finally know how to do the purl stitch just after round three. You are an amazing teacher thank you so much.I literally jumped out of my chair dancing. Now I am going to teach my 7 y old son as he is obsessed with knitting
Thank You....I am 68 years old...left handed and never mastered knitting...my Mum and daughter are fabulous knitters....and I have just cast on...knitted 2 rows...and purled 2 rows..a huge .....Thank You...
You're the only person giving tutorials who actually explained that once you catch the purl stitch you drop the loop after it. I was getting in such a tangle and close to giving up until I found your channel, thank you! I'll be subscribing and following.
I can't believe it! The yarn on my needle actually looks like something!!!!!! Thank you for your patience and repetition...this is the first moment in my brief knitting career that I think I can actually make something someday!!!
Thank you for teaching me how to knit again after a 10 year hiatus. Your tutorials are really easy to understand. Not only are you a good knitter, you're also a very good teacher too!!!
I watched a number of tutorials to try to figure out purling but this is the only one that helped. She actually zooms in enough to show the motion of catching the loop. It's also the only one that explained that you have to alternate rows between knit and purl to get the classic "knit" look! Thank you!
Hi, beginner knitter here! And I was just thinking about how great of a teacher you are!! Thank you so much, I don’t know what most of us beginners would do without people like you! Thank you so much!!
I've watched and rewatched a couple tutorials and this is the only tutorial I could get on how to do the purl stitch. It's so important that you showed the other side while stitching, thank you!
I follow your crochet videos and you are by far the best teacher I've found....imagine how excited I was to find that you have knit videos too.....I am one lucky girl!!! Thank You so much
I was about to give up knitting because I couldn't pick up after watching several videos, but your videos are clear and to the point and it worked for me. Thank you.
Finally someone who shows - slowly! - the technique used to avoid curling! I understood the idea of using the opposite stitch at each end of the row, but I never saw a tutorial where they showed the yarn being moved to the front or to the back between the needles, which resulted in me making a right mess out of my projects for a while… thank you!!!
My goal for 2023 is to knit a pair of socks and as someone who’s brain only focusses on and knows crochet, thank you for making tutorials for actual beginners! The way you show the stitches and clearly explain things has helped me make an actual swatch that is so good I did a happy dance 😂 I know this is an “old” video but just wanted you to know its still very appreciated! ❤
Best tutorials ever!!!! You have a gift for this!!!! Thank you very much!!!! Knitting is something i thought i would never learn, but bc of you i have learned!! Anytime i look for knitting tutorials i always hope that your videos up!!!
Thank you so much for making this video so easy to understand. I've been trying to figure out how to purl for almost a year now and because of you I just purled an entire row without messing up! You just made my day.
I first learned to knit in 1984. I was taught by a Swedish woman while living in Mexico City. Then I took a 33 year hiatus.....which essentially makes me a beginning knitter...again. A friend gave me some basic instruction, but I'm not a see-it-once-and-got-it-learner. I'm a see-it-12-times-do-it-14-times-and-MAYBE-got-it learner. What makes your video good isn't just the repetition, but the fact that you use the same words each time. This is both visual and audio reinforcement. Many people try coming up with a different description each time and that just doesn't work for me. Thank you!
I agree with many of the commenters here - your videos are EXCELLENT!!!! thank you so much for taking the time to make and post them.....they've been so helpful!!
You're brilliant at explaining this in a slow enough and calm way with the perfect amount of detail and it's clear what you are doing!!! Thank you for this!!! :-) You did an awesome job!!!!!!
Thank you so much ! I spent days trying to comprehend a knit one purl one pattern and was about to give up . I get it now ! You are a wonderfully instructive teacher .
Thank you so much for your excellent easy explanations!! You are the first person who wasn't hard to track my own (very very beginner's) work as you went along!! after many years of attempting and failing and only managing the basic knit, ever wishing to be able to purl, NOW I CAN THANKS TO YOU!!!!! Bless you sweetheart!! I hope this message finds you well after so many years since you posted this tutorial!! Much love from a Mum in Sydney, Australia 🥰🥰🥰 💛💚💙💜🤎
OMG thank you so much! I started knitting a little while ago and I could only do the very basic knit stitch. I tried so many other tutorials and yours is the one which helped me understand it. Thank you!
I went through so many videos to figure out how to purl and you were the only one to clearly show where to put the needle after looping the yarn around
Just started knitting this week and yours have, by far, been the best tutorial videos I've seen to learn the basic knit and purl stitches. So very grateful that you uploaded these. Thank you so much!
I'm a brand new knitter, I watched a few other youtube channels to get started but after watching some of your videos my knitting improved IMMEDIATELY. Yours is definitely the best channel I've found so far!
I have been struggling with learning knitting for ages, but thanks to you I can now knit easily and pretty fast too, thank you for making it very simple and easy to understand ❤
Thank you so much for this. All the other “beginner” tutorials never really showed what you are doing to pull the stitch off the needle. This tutorial did and it really helped me. Thanks you so much. 😊😊😊😊❤️❤️
I am a real beginner and gaining skill and confidence because of your instruction. You do an exceptional job of explaining and demonstrating. Thank you. Next challenge...changing yarn color.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I was getting so frustrated learning to purl only to learn that the problem was I wasn’t moving the yarn to the front before purling!! I’ve watched several of your videos and they are by far the most informative ones that I have found! GREAT job!!
Thank you so much! Your tutorials actually help me learn. Other people on youtube will show you how to do it slowly once and then they speed through the rest. Yours actually help me as a beginner so much more!
I've been looking at many purl stitch videos now and yours made me understand the catching of the loop thank you so much for showing it calmly and precisely THANK YOU! :3
Thank you for this! I tried to learn from a book and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong...but you telling us to make sure the yarn was in the front (and actually demonstrating what that meant) fixed it!
Wow you are amazing!! I learned how to purl stitch from watching your video and your video only! I went ahead and tried it on my current project and it came out lovely. Not to mention I had issues on the last stitch and your video helped me fix it right up! Thank you so much ! 🧶🧵💕✨😊
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Finally a fab tutorial - I couldn't work out why my knitting looked so different - I was only doing the knit stitch - I'm so happy that I don't mind unpicking and starting it ptoperly - Thanks again!!
Thank you so much!!!! I recently purchased a little knit your own beanie kit and the instructions were less than helpful, so I turned to TH-cam and found your channel. Your videos are MUCH more beginner friendly than most others I've seen, and you are very clear and concise! I knitted that hat and now I'm learning to make a scarf with this! You rock!
this video was a big help it helped the most i know how to do the garner stitch and now i am at the stocknite stitch and i did not know how to do a purl and you did it slow and they are like rushing they are so fast now i can do a stocknite stitch thankyou very much
Thank you your tutorial was so easy to follow and understand, I’m a beginner knitter and this helped me loads. I’m definitely going to keep following so I continue to enjoy ... 😊 thank you .
As soon as I stop focusing,I accidentally do a knit stitch 😅 Thank you for such a clear explanation! This is very easy to follow! Now that I know both, I can do stockinette!
This is gonna sound sad as hell but a few years ago my mum bought my sister and I a knit your own bobble hat. Instructions are.. well not beginner friendly. As someone who learned how to basic knit at the age of 11 -and forgot- seeing a "8 rows of 2x2 rib" had me very confused. This year I finally thought I'll take this to uni with me and actually learn, my mum even had a book... which was absolutely awful. Yelled at my wool plenty of times! But this purl (and regular knit) is honestly the only clear and slow/simple tutorial I've found im nearly crying. Everyone else does it so fast I had no idea there was a loop you go through my stitches were just falling off so fast 😭 so thank you for these tutorials, hopefully I'll have a hat by December

8 months later I have the same kit and I'm here thinking the same thing! Hope you kept up with knitting. 😊
check out sheep and stitch
When knitting, Does it matter if you insert the needle on the right instead of the left?
@@Randomstuffcuzwhynot_ I love sheep and stitch too!! They're my favorite probably!
