you're absolutely right on this one. At one point I use to watch CN and Nick at the same time(what a dilemma). But now I realized no other kids network has had the Variety of cartoons CN use to have. No one has been able to fit old, new, anime and Adult cartoons in one scheduled day like Cartoon Network had did.

Awesome video. Cartoon Network used to be an extremely profitable business by making everybody happy, but it doesn't make much sense to me that their current tactics are taking less risks and appealing to less people.

+Tyrese Mitch Ben 10 started in late 2005. It was the last great CN original series from my core childhood years. Ben 10 Alien Force & Ultimate Alien were good too. The rest after that have been reboots/remakes not part of the original universe.

  • @mqgTWO96

In 2003 Cartoon Network was 24 hours Fridays and Saturdays. Fridays for new episodes of all of the original programming and Saturdays for all the action cartoons/anime, and even after that throughout 2004-2006, I remember when CN would go up to 10pm or 11pm E.T. 5-6 days a week. Now, CN ends at 8pm E.T. every single night (when [adult swim] starts). I feel sorry for the kids today because I know when I was a kid I was still up around the 8pm-10pm hours to watch new episodes of my favorite cartoons.

At least in 2007, even during the "Fall" era, they still seemed to have a soul. I really like watching those CN Invaded commercials. They got me truly excited. As horrible as the "Fall is just something that grownups invented" song is, the commercial was vibrant, colorful, and got me intrigued as a kid. Plus, we still had a decent amount of shows airing. Now, everything is just so... robotic. I only stopped watching the network in 2009 as the network was REALLY killed by CN Real. I started watching it again after Adventure Time, but after that I didn't watch as much.

My favorite promos were way back in the early dayz and they showed the old checkerboard add with Hannah Barnett’s Godzilla, Johnny Quest, and the Herculoids. TheJustin4848 I noted that Gumball is ending not getting cancelled, and I forgot about Regular Show ending not getting canned. This network is still turning to shit unless they start greenlighting some actual good pilots to become full series.
Also be aware that CN's way of saying "renew" is a bit more scummy than how other network do it, as they just split a planned season in half and call it a renewal when it really isn't, They do it with most of their shows and for Uncle Grandpa's case they split it in half, and then later announced it's cancellation.

i think the main problem is the lack of shows that are on there are like 5 or 6 shows on through out the entire day and most of it is teen titans go i think they show it at least 5 hours a day. Take away 3 hours of teen titans go and fill that time with different shows that are not playing right now and that could help get ratings up in my opinion. i would also like to see a segment called oldy but goody where at least 2 hours a day they would show late 90's early 2000's shows and they would start it with the cartoon city commercial but that's probably never gonna happen

If they relaunch Boomerang, they need to air Old WB and MGM cartoons before they add late 1990's to 2000's CN Originals. Examples: Popeye, Original Superman, Rocky & Bullwinkle, Pink Panther Original, Snorks, Squiddly Diddly, Betty Boop, etc. Don't get me wrong I like 1990's to 2000's CNN Originals but they need to add the Vintage Shows first.

Ya know, there was all these awesome shows such as ed edd eddy, PPG, dexter, fosters home, etc..... I can go on for a while rambling off shows, even theres some seasonal shows that they would put on such as scary god mother, i mean were nearing the fall and with fall comes halloween and i always looked forward for those seasonal shows to come on, but they dont even air those anymore, now dont get me wrong theres still like 2 or 3 decent shows such as we bare bears, adventure time and regular show, but i would love to see these old shows come back, but CN corporation does not care any more....... Not only does CN not compare to what it used to be, it doesn't even compare to other cartoon channels anymore. Nickelodeon has more to offer than CN at this point. Disney XD offers more variety than CN, and they get extremely low views. They just don't seem to care about anything they do. The low ratings and poor advertising have caused the cancellation of Uncle Grandpa, Powerpuff Girls reboot, Clarence, and maybe even Mighty Magiswords.

Basically agree, right now they have some great shows, but everything else about it that makes them a network is kind of lacking. The scheduling and packaging aren't very good. Which is why even with their current stuff I almost always use hulu or cable VOD. Only time I'll sometimes watch the linear channel is when there's a new Adventure Time or Steven Universe.

Yeah, whenever I think about how bad cartoon network is now, the more I DON'T wanna work there! I'd honestly wanna work with disney because at least disney lets you have more freedom than cartoon network, If I wanna make an action cartoon, I bet disney would say "YES! do it!" while cartoon network would say "Hmm... can it be a comedy?" and that's kinda sad in my opinion.

I agree with oy about Cartoon Network is no longer the place for cartoons. I think that Cartoon Network should cut down on showing so much of cartoon shows for hours everyday. They should only show one episode of each cartoon shows a day and when they show new cartoon episodes on one and not let the cartoon shows last for hours. If Cartoon Network did that they might be able to show some other cartoon shows in the hours that are empty. Like the hours before Adult Swim starts.

As long i can remember, from a few years ago, we moved to my new home, I wanted to watch cartoon network to see if sonic boom was on there, but PLOT TWIST! it was NEVER on there. so without any fucks i watched cartoon network. I kept watching toddler titans no! until i moved back to my old home and quit watching cartoon network. i was glad i quit cartoon network because the cringe show is taking over. but one day i stumbled upon Netflix and i saw there were 2 movies to watch one that is Teen Titans Go! and Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo. I couldn't make up my mind, suddenly a notification rolled in. it was from TH-cam. I saw the message. when i clicked it, i saw Teen Titans, a show that aired around 2003. after i watched a bit of an episode, i went back to Netflix and clicked the second option, and saw awesomeness of an animation. "Man," i said. "This is better than the show i usually watch!" and with that said, i kept watching Teen Titans episodes until the ending where beast boy walks to the end of the show. i was devastated when it ended. i thought "I wish it never ended." and up to this day, i still support 2000's cartoons like the show i was talking about throughout the entire story i wrote. i hope you can read this, and i hope you can like it. and with that said, let's end this story by living our lives like we usually do and remembering our childhood. thank you, for bringing us memories we will never forget

I think you bring up some great points, that Cartoon Network has a lot more confidence in their lineup from 1992-2007. We’re now in an age where the internet is taking over our lives. Blockbuster as we all know got destroyed by Netflix cause it was more convenient for people to rent movies and shows at home instead of stores. Amazon is destroying store chains like Toys R Us (just recently closed all it’s US stores last Friday) and leaving them in . And now, we live in an era where Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming services are destroying Cable Television. Kids don’t need to go home to access Cartoon Network just to watch Cartoons 24/7 anymore, they can watch whatever they want whenever they want wherever they want, so this is putting Cartoon Network in a really tough space. If there’s any reason Cartoon Network is overplaying their most popular show Teen Titans Go, it’s most likely because they want to continue making money and earning viewers before the day the channel finally dies. I can tell the fall of Cable Television is putting Christina Miller and the rest of the executives at Cartoon Network under a lot of pressure. And while Christina Miller isn’t doing a poor job at trying to get the channel more views, at least she’s trying her best to keep the channel alive. Cartoon Network for over a decade was the best place for cartoons, but times have changed, and we now live in an era where you can still watch cartoons 24/7 but in a much more convenient way. This is a tough adjustment for us Millennials that grew up loving the old Cartoon Network, but growing up and accepting change is part of life, and this is no exception for Cartoon Network and other things we loved and grew up with.

So coming from the eyes of someone who has uploaded Cartoon Network promos for about 5 months now, I see where you stand on this. You brought up a point that CN loved to show off how awesome they were back in the late 90s while now they don't care at all; I think this promo demonstrates it the most effectively. th-cam.com/video/b08IuDt2muY/w-d-xo.html The point they were making was simple - they show nothing but cartoons - but it was done in such an extravagant and amazing way that just makes you want to stick to the channel. Besides Yoursday, which is pretty much Cartoon Cartoon Fridays except a bit worse, it feels like CN has lost their respect for both casual viewers and longtime fans of cartoons and the network recently. Let's hope that they can reclaim their identity in time for the network's 25th anniversary next year. :)

_Adult Swim isn't the problem, it's fine. It's just that they've gone downhill with Teen Titans Go and airing it pretty much the entire day before Adult Swim starts. TTG is the problem. PPG is the problem. Not promoting CN's other cartoons is the problem. They're making money because of TTG. They just care about money and not the shows. NIckelodeon used to do that, but they changed. They understand what we want to see on the channel. Nickelodeon is getting better after their dark era, with Fanboy and Chum Chum or whatever that shit is. They have The Loud House, Harvey Beaks and now Welcome to the Wayne. Cartoon Network doesn't give a shit and just cares about TTG and the frickin' money. Adult Swim, Nickelodeon, Disney, etc., they aren't the problems here. It's money, TTG and Cartoon Network in general. Sure, CN might have good cartoons like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Steven Universe, but they also have bad ones like TTG, PPG, Uncle Grandpa (actually, that wasn't too bad of a show, tbh), and that Cloudy with A Chance of Meatballs or that crap. CN has gone downhill and it's Christina Miller's fault. She should be fired and CN should end now. Nobody watches Cartoon Network anymore._

I will say this. I feel sorry for the kids just growing up in this day and age that doesn't know how to use the Internet yet. They're exposed to just what Cartoon Network in 2016 has to offer. I remember being able to watch early 30's and 40's Warner Bros. Cartoons on Cartoon Network regularly, then when the Cartoon Network City era happened, I wasn't able to watch Classic Looney Tunes regularly anymore cause Cartoon Network stopped playing them on their main channel, then I didn't have a computer and my parents wouldn't let me use the computer to watch Classic Looney Tunes. I didn't know that Boomerang exist at the time as an alternate channel too. Cartoons, overall, have always been off-the-wall and zany, and Cartoon Network has always been kids channel, but they've made it to where it's too.....too..... I don't want to say even more watered down version of a Cartoon Network channel than ever before. I mean, there are still good shows in 2016 that CN plays like Steven Universe and Regular Show. I guess the presentation of the channel now is like.... Ugh.

Completely agree, the best part of old Cartoon Network was being able to watch all the classics that were 30, 40, or even 50 years before as well as the shows that were still new then.

Seems like most shit has become lifeless these days.
Dragon Ball is lifeless now (to me) since Super is on this shit show parade where it's this dumbed down childlike version of itself with no actual depth or lasting story telling. I know that somewhat changed with the Evil Goku saga but I'm talking about the rest of Super. DB just doesn't feel like DB to me anymore for the most part.
CN should go without saying. Gumball is the only show on there worth a shit and that's all. It's a dead lifeless company just wearing dead skin to try and earn money. Pathetic.
Nick is just complete toxic camel shit now. No worthwhile ANYTHING anymore. SpongeBob is literally bench pressing the company at this point and even then its not by much. SpongeBob can't even get good games anymore these days so he's on his way out as sad as it is.
Naruto started good but as it got to the end of Shippuden it became a Dragon Ball wannabe and a fanfiction towards the final chapter. It could've easily been one of the greats but ultimately fell flat on its face and couldn't amount to much in the end.
Everything starts off amazing but then turns to be shit as these company hires money whores instead of actually creative people who love what they do and have the imagination and drive to push a company like CN and Nick forward. Pathetic.

I agree on everything except for Dragon Ball Super. I think that it did the movies better in their arcs, and has some of the best fight choreography out of any of the series'. Most DBZ fights is just people randomly punching. Super has had legitimate fight choreography and it's been pretty badass imo.

After CNN real era, Cartoon Network was coming out with great shows of Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, etc in 2010. I thought they were going get better again. But now it seem they're back on the same road as CNN real, but with reboots of cartoons. Whatever good shows left on Cartoon Network back in 2010, now it's on life support. Regular Show is ending. Adventure Time suppose to end by season 9, but idk if that's going possible with the views going down, since Cartoon Network only promotes their new reboots. Plus the schedule for new episodes of 2010 shows are really bad, since reruns of crap reboots and other shows are taking over. Cartoon Network is taking shows that saved itself from going obscurity from 2010, to now throwing trash on them. I think this time, Cartoon Network won't be able to save itself. After CNN real, society gave them one more chance to redeem themselves. They did, but it did not last long. 2012 I think was the last best year of Cartoon Network :(

Great video. Cartoon Network isn't "The Best Place For Cartoons" anymore. I can pretty much find episodes of all their Cartoon Cartoon shows on the internet and watch them Same with Classic Looney Tunes. They overplay the same 4 or 5 shows (Gumball, TTG, We Bare Bears, Steven Universe(although I enjoy it), Regular Show (i enjoy this show too) every day. Turner's Boomerang channel is even worse(Same Classic Looney Tunes shorts, same Tom and Jerry shorts, reruns of Peanuts, Tom and Jerry Show, The Looney Tunes Show, Smurfs, Flintstones, Be Cool Scooby Doo, Wabbit, Gumball (filler), and Teen Titans Go (filler) on TV everyday on Boomerang is just as boring as Cartoon Network, that's what I would compare your recycled book metaphor to, FutureGohan. I mean, I don't eat at McDonalds or Wendy's every single time I have money to go out and eat fast food, but we live in a generation where networks will think today's kids will watch the same number of shows every single day.

They were supposed to air Tom & Jerry, and Looney Toons this week on cartoon network, but instead they show the same old boring schedule.

why are you looking at my name bro That shows you how much Turner cares about Classic Cartoons. Someone at Turner really has it in for classic cartoons. It's bad enough that they don't even air them, but to air the same old, same old, let alone, the same old episodes of classic cartoons proves that they are under the impression that their viewing audience is nothing but children and their parents and/or grandparents watching with them. That's the problem with Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Too many reruns of a handful of certain shows.

MerrieMelodies Fan I hope sometime soon Christina Miller gets fired, then they hire someone that actually cares about old cartoons. I don't want 20 airings of Teen Titans Go, and 2 on Boomerang.

I don't know if It's Christina Miller responsible for Cartoon Network's and Boomerang's mediorce tv scheduling or not. I don't want to quickly point the finger, but if it is her, then I agree.

+MerrieMelodies Fan I am 85% sure that it's her. 15% it's Vishnu-Athreya. Either way they both have a stale schedule.

Let's just say and pretend that most of the reboots of the original cartoon shows are not cannon because they don't even exist in the universe in the first place since they are on low quality of how cheap and mediocre they are to the audience while ruining the originality of their classic shows.

compared to other networks at least they still have cartoons, granted new ones. Personally I think Nick and Disney are far worse for cartoons as they interfere with the creators work and refusal to corporate leading shows to get cancelled like Wonder Over Yander, Gravity Falls, Legend Of Korra. Bottom line the 3 networks are all shit but if you had to choose a network for your cartoon, which would you choose?

    • @JamieSnowdenYT
      @JamieSnowdenYT  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

At least Nick doesn't cancel shows that get high-ratings simply because they didn't get a toyline.
Cartoon Network also must not be that good, as creators such as Craig McCracken, Genndy Tartakovsky, Maxwell Atoms and many others have all left to go work at other networks, and not many of them have good things to say about CN.

which is why I said *all 3 are shit*. In case you didn't realize Gendy is working on Samurai Jack for Adult Swim so there's that. Like I said AGAIN, all the big networks are crap. As much as I loved Gravity Falls and Wander they still make those shitty live action shows along with Nick who just copies Disney and destroyed the Avatar series but screwing over the creators. At the very least CN realized they fucked up HARD and tries to fix it, granted it's never gonna recover but at least I can see the network trying and shows like Gumball, Steven Universe, Adventure Time (kinda), WBB, Regular Show are insanely good especially when compared to the other networks

    • @JamieSnowdenYT
      @JamieSnowdenYT  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Adult Swim, despite having the same parent network, is not affiliated with Cartoon Network. They have their own separate studio and everything. I have heard they are much better to work for.
Nick and Disney having live action shows has never been new. They've always had them.
And no, you asked me who I'd rather work for. An article by IGN.com released about 10 years ago, talking about how Cartoon Network was being purposely sexist by telling the people who make the shows to put female characters in the background, behind the male characters.
Their reason being that "girls don't sell toys, only boys sell toys."
So I'd probably rather work for somebody else.

The years of 2000-2010 were basically by far the best eras for many cartoon shows of Cartoon Network rising regarding their peakness and popularity as we grew up with them during our nostalgic childhood memories that marked our nostalgia back in the good old days.
