    A crazy story about foot splinters that I remember from middle school: a girl in my class had a splinter in her foot that she just could not get out. We were heading to gym class and she decided she could participate in gym because it was so deep in her foot that it wasn’t even painful anymore. I think we were running the mile that day, and it’s probably a good thing, because we were all very sweaty when we got back to the locker rooms. She took off her socks and shoes, and there was the splinter, sticking straight out of her foot! I guess the heat and moisture from the sweat, plus the direct pressure from running was enough to gradually coax the splinter from her foot. It was gross but incredible, so much so that i still remember this story 15 years later lol.
    I said all of this to say that doctor dray is right about the foot bath! It’s all about the heat and moisture.

    Thanks! Highly informative as always! And I have more questions!
    Can we please watch your behind the scenes? Like while you are editing and researching topics? I love watching “work with me” videos! I find them highly motivational.
    What are your favorite UPF hats?
    What do you think about the book The Wrinkle Cure: Unlock the Power of Cosmeceuticals for Supple, Youthful Skin by Perricone, Nicholas? Do you suggest any books about skin/hair/nail health?
    Could you review Renee Rouleau's products? I’ve heard great things about them but their sunscreen wasn’t compatible with my skin when I tried it; it was irritating for me and seemed too expensive for my budget.
    What glands do we have in the skin? Are they part of the endo/exocrine system? Are they regulated by hormones and bacteria?
    Is it me, or half-decent skincare used to be extremely expensive and now it’s much more accessible? What changed? Is it due to supply chains, patents ending, etc?

I swim, and this is just a big ol' container of sunscreen that I can dollop on a few times a day (very reasonably priced from Walmart: $11.94 for 32 oz). It's waterproof, which is great.

    Hi Dr Dray! I've been watching your videos for a while and found your recommendations very useful. Thank you so much for your consistent uploads! I'm wondering if you could review some skincare products that are on the more expensive side (e.g. Lancome, L'Occitane, Estée Lauder, SK-II, etc). I always wonder if they are worth it--they might not be as cost-effective as the affordable ones, but I wonder if there are active ingredients in those expensive products that are just not possible to get from cheaper ones. Thank you!

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      She's got a video on at least one Estee Lauder products (the really popular one) and she's mentioned the SK-II essence in a couple of videos. As for expensive skin care, there are derms who do focus on that like Dr. Ania Marie MD. Skin by Dr. Azi, DermAngelo, Dr Shereene Idriss are some who also do a mix of expensive/drugstore.

    I needed a body care video!! Thanks doctor 💖 btw can I ask a question? I showed a derm my PIE/PIH and she told me to use "Eritretin" if you know about it 🤷🏻‍♂️ It's %96 Ethanol, %4 Eritromycin and %0.025 Tretinoin. I've been using it for 2 months+ and seems like it's working but it's also irritating my skin and causing some purging. Do you suggest anything about this? It peels my skin strongly but redness is also worrying me.

      For purging/irritation, I might check out her videos on it re: retinol. She's also got videos on PIE and hyperpigmentation.

    Omgosh! I comment all the time, but oh well. I started using the new dove age embrace with peptides and glycerine for my mom. She is 78 and has a horribly damaged skin barrier from chronic steroid use. Her lower legs are so tender I haven’t been able to do more than tap on some soap and wash it off for at least a year. She had scaly skin on her legs. After 3 uses of the new dove, all her scales started peeling off. After more washes all the scales are gone!!! I don’t know if the “magic peptides” really do anything but whatever magic this soap has is amazing. Wish I could upload pics.

    Don't we need to wash our arms if we used sunscreen? I know you mentioned we need to wash our face and neck to remove sunscreen. I'm confused?

    Love these videos! I've definitely tried out products you've talked about in your affordable skin care videos. Thanks! Have you considered doing a video on how to care for tattooed and/or pierced skin? I'm also curious about how to do skin cancer skin checks on inked skin. Earlier this week I learned people can get skin cancers under their fingernails and toenails, and my mind was blown! Now I'm wishing they put SPF in nail polish!😅
