TBF, Duncan was well polished by the time he left, which is pretty incredible considering he picked up the game not that long ago, and how raw he was coming into Wake Forrest. Then again, he was already considered to be one of the best players coming out his Jr. year. Thank goodness he fufilled his mother's wishes by finishing school, which allowed SA to pick Timmy, and pretty much elevate themselves from a fairly successful franchise to the heights of teams the the Celtics, Lakers, and Bulls.
He would’ve been the #1 overall pick in that loaded 1996 class. Which is already the second greatest ever. If Duncan were also in that one, the conversations and debates about 1984 vs 1996 would be more colorful for sure.

He was basically the closest to a perfect power forward we may ever get. 4 full years to develop in college (plus a degree as a bonus), All-Star as a rookie, loyal to one team á la Kobe and John Stockton, 5x Champ, double digit All-Star, guaranteed HOFer, and so on...and did all this without playing a DAY of AAU or similar junior leagues treated like pro development leagues. Fantastic player. I'm a Kobe guy through and though, but T-Mac was probably my second favorite player to watch during the early to mid 2000s.
I've watched a great deal of basketball videos and just subscribed now. I really feel like everybody else just talks to make noise occasionally. But Dom checks his sources, backs statements up with facts, digs deep for extra possibilities. These videos are tremendous and I can actually tolerate your videos.

I love TMac. I still have his jersey on my wall. But I cannot stand the people that swear if TMac had more help, he'd be better than Kobe. Those rockets teams in 2005-2007 weren't that bad and I don't remember Mac going off while everybody else sucked. He just didn't show up in the playoffs. And injuries did him dirty smh. He was a regular season scoring machine no question but there's more to the game than scoring. He's a top 10 2000s player but he's not better than Kobe or Allen Iverson
T-Mac was a horrible defender, no way he would become a better all-round player than Kobe lmfao. He's just an overrated bum who never was able to get past the 1st round during his prime.

If Danny Ainge was the GM for the Celtics in 96, he would have definitely picked McGrady at 3 or 6. Plus, if Kobe the previous season was picked 13th, I think 9th for McGrady seems right since both were coming out of high school with similar accolades.
