Why are race helmets loud? Didn't understand this comment

When you race you breathe very heavily plus it is a very intensive task, to compensate for that, the airflow needs to be increased. To increase the airflow, bigger vents are used hence the race helmets are loud.
Another big reason is positioning, on race motorcycles usually you're tucked in, whereas in daily commute or touring you sit upright. Race helmets are designed to provide maximum airflow when you're tucked in, they become significantly louder when you change the seating position and angle.
