Excellent video. The metal bracket holes tore off around the screws in the door frame. I just ordered the Ideal repair kit with the bracket and replaced it. I also had to pack a couple of the holes with split wall plugs. Cheers.
I thought I needed a new closer, but it stayed open because it was missing the attachment screw, just found a screw and dropped it in the closer hole and my door closes again, but now it slams!!!! I need to turn screw clockwise now.
Door only opens about 70 degrees with new closer, also in installation video, it says that bracket should be 2 1/8 inches from door, but video show measuring from window of door, not inside edge of door???

What size of wood screws are in the door jam bracket-- #10, #12......? My old door closer jam bracket got ripped right out of the door casing, splintering the casing. I want to install longer screws that would go into the 2"x4" framing around the door but am not certain what size of screws are provided with your Ideal SK4015.
How ironic, a brown unit on a white door! I've been to 6 hardware stores in my area cause my new sunroom is all brown /bronze AND all they carry is white and black! Pffft.

the torision closer works great - but my door doesn't open wide enough now. it barely opens 45 degrees!

Hahhah. We hear ya, Daniel. It's not the sexiest item, but that satisfying swoosh/click combo as the door closes is music to our ears.
