Being a dot shooter I struggle with "Chicken finger" when I focus on the dot. The problem for me is when I focus on the target I must unconsciously move between the dot and the target because my groups open up real bad. I know Zins said to focus on the target or the dot but not both. The struggle is real.
catching up with your collection of vids, already learned bunches, thanks! the vid with your trainer was excellent, I downloaded the app for RO instruction, that'll be great tool to learn with. Also seeing how the trainer incorporated the phone timer with view of your stance very helpful if I can setup my personal recordings like that to deconstruct what worked/problems to work on. Just a brief sentence or two about what equipment you're using , what you are doing that day would be appreciated, I can always google or search for more info, it's all so new to me, like the Marvel conversion, if a tube red dot better than the RMR type I'm used to seeing, so much to pick up just from this day, how to setup sighting and what's allowed, need to be at 45* rest at the final instruction, not to bring gun up till targets turned? (that's only on the 25 yard line right? , seems like on the 50 yard must be at ready position until buzzer or is it no shot fired until then? guess I need to read the rules, is their a website ? something else to google!
For the dot .22 I'm using a Marvel conversion. My iron sight .22 is a Hammerli 280. I have two service pistols, one is my back up gun if my primary fails. It's a Springfield Armory Range Officer. My primary is also a Springfield Armory Range Officer but I've had work done to it by Blackmass Customs. Now it shoots wayyyyy better than I deserve lol
When shooting with a dot, I focus on the center of the target. Looking back and forth between the dot and the target is a guaranteed way to open up your group. Also on the conversion malfunctions, the trick is optimizing your recoil spring and mainsprings. Also need to keep the chamber, breach face and bolt face clean.
Thank you for the comment. I will focus on the center of the target my next training session. I took the Marvel apart, cleaned it well, inspected firing pin, etc. We'll see how it does in a day or two.
Had similar issues with my Nelson conversion I had to open up the magazine catch notch on the magazine to allow the magazine to run lower I did file one to far ruined that mag, but after filing to the correct depth, the gun runs great
Great video, Pewfessor. I stare at the x when I shoot the dot. Keep the content coming.
Thank you for your kind words! I will definitely try the X focus on my next training session.
Great video

I'm ready to start training more with the dot. But I have to have my coaches approval lol.

Thank you for the kind comment! CMP has rule books on their website. You can just google CMP pistol rules and it will pop right up.

@@bullseyepewfessor6393I find trying to focus on the dot makes it blurrier. Focusing on the target seems to clear it up.

Looks like a game of racketball the first time you look through that red dot sight doesn’t it?
