Those so called Quad 33 / 303 retro reissues look cheap , tacky , almost plasticky and nothing near as good the originals . They also look like unfinished samples . What an insult to the original 33 / 303 Quad units which i still use . Peter Walker must be turning in his grave .
The originals went bust, so if it were not for these people the firm would no longer exist.
@@Andrew-rc3vh QUAD is now nothing more than a brand name in my opinion ever since being sold to the Verity Group Plc in 1995 and the later sale to the International Audio Group ( IAG ) in 1997 . The owner of the independent original family run QUAD ACOUSTICAL company Peter Walker retired from the company in the early 1990's handing over the management of the company to his son Ross Walker . Ross Walker has since left the company too . Stan Curtis of IAG took over . As far as i am concerned the original company and those that founded and worked in it has ceased to exist since those take overs . The brand QUAD among other famous UK brands is now sadly Chinese owned and heavily exploited . Since those takeovers of the brand the reliability of Quad products has sadly despite the brand name and hype taken a nose dive in my experience and others . Even their Quad equipment servicing department still based in Huntingdon is now becoming questionable .
