    Yesterday TH-cam kindly offered up a video from three years ago "This is what happens when country meets city", which i watched. Where Doug and Chet, do a slow drive by of a 9RX saying 'wishing'. I believe the moral of this story is, be careful what you wish for. Love the videos and remember time and money solves all problems.

    On the plexiglass window. So you start with 600 grit then 1000 grit then 1500 grit then 2000 grit and you wet sand it by hand then you buff it out with rubbing compound then buff it again with a good professional wax and that window can be polished back to like new if it doesn’t come out like new do it again but it will come back to clear it is just oxidized

    Chet, you might be able to get the same bearings and seals from an actual bearing and seal supplier. Most of those items are commonly produced. My youngest brother was looking for parts to restore a John Deere H. He asked me if there was a supplier that he could contact. I told him about Lessen Supply in Charles City IA. He brought the original John Deere parts book with him. It had the John Deere part numbers listed. Byron Lessen looked in his books and had most of them on hand and brought them to the counter in the boxes from the manufacturer with the same number listed. Not in a John Deere labeled box. It saved money for him.

    I know the feeling on the parts being so expensive for something so small had to get a sensor for the air downforce on a 1245 Case planter boss told me if it’s like $20 get 2 when he rang it up it was almost $700 for one but that little sensor was not letting air go to the bags on the rows

    I wasn't thinking dumb, dumb, or dumber when you said that Chet, more like ed, ed, and eddy lol. I saw you on a farm show interview from about 4 month's ago, utube suggested the channel. I heard you say that the BS, and Dougo were liked more by the viewing audience. Chet, i find you the most entertaining, because you instigate Dougo, and the other fellas. Thanks for shoving camera's into everyone's hand, because it makes great video's. G-d bless everyone, and hope y'all get to feeling better.

    The same buffer that is used to polish the paint can be used to buff out plastic windows. Around here there are automotive detailers that will polish it for you. You should probably have a large buffer but there are pad kits you can buy to use with a drill. Baking soda mixed with water and vinegar is a good solution to use. Keep the plastic damp so it doesn't melt.

    I was told by an instructor where I went to school. If it doesn't come from the manufacturer, but one of those other parts houses, get yourself a really good micrometer possibly two different sizes. Mice any shaft, race , inside diameter of bearing, oil seal , the hub the oilseal goes into , and if there's any rubber left on the seal it, and the shaft that it rides on. It was very good advice. Saved me a lot of trips back in for different parts!. Just saying.

    I agree. When I was in Oklahoma I saw my grand-daughter's CRV headlights. They are sensitive to ultraviolet in the sun. I used Mequiar's PlastX to clean the plastic. Then use Meguiar's Headlight Coating. Repeat every year. I will be honest with you, it improved the plastic, but, it is NOT perfect. The manufacturers used to used glass headlights. Now they use plastic because they can mold them easier, and cheaper. . . . except for us, . . . the consumer. . . . and yes, I did get a buffing wheel to start with rubbing compound.

    Chet Dougo Eric Broodie great explanations on the 9 RX I am sorry but if I had to pay that kind of money and get a little bag like that that thing would be gone when back together and a red one replace it and let John Deere no never again on my farm I could buy a good old tractor for the price you paid in parts and fix and paint for what you paid.

    Yes if you samd your wi dow in 3 steps. Using finner sand paper each step. 600 to 1200 then last use 2000 and then buff it with rubbing compound and then a final glaze it will clean up like new.

  • @mleger2797
    @mleger2797 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Use a orbital sander with 2-4 different grit papers to strip off the top layers, buffing wheel for yor grinder and compound. Once its clear again use a light automotive tint(60-70) film that is UV protective on the out side of it. That should give you years of double protection(clips and sun damage). or try UV headlight compound, safe to use on your plastic headlights so should be alright ( Just NOTHING with ammonia in it if that is plexi glass. It'll fog it right back up.***no windex***)

    Kudos to you and your team and your family. I do not know how Farmers can make it. Everyday, modern equipment, massive expenditures with new equipment, massive $$$ for parts and they are moving to devices that require "expert" intervention and no user replaceable parts like new cars and it pushes the local 'fix-it' garage out of business. I hope that independent farmers don't go the same way - although the 'corporate farm' has gained ground and they are building massive 'solar/wind' farms on good arable land. Go figure!
