In 1977, after trying a friends Pioneer SG-9500 equalizer I started shopping for one. I liked this Sound Shaper Two best (also known as the Mk1). It had meters for channel balancing and room equalization (with an ADC SLM), twelve sliders per channel, flexible controls, THD/IM of 0.02% and a boss "industrial" look. You could listen to a connected source equalized or un-equalized, bypass the EQ circuit or send an equalized signal to a tape deck. I used it until I upgraded to the Sound Shaper Two IC in 1982, still in use almost every time the hifi is on. Nice video.

Do you think the Sound Shaper Two IC is a better option then the one presented in the video? I am just about to buy one, and can't decide between the two. I would appreciate an answer. Thanks a lot!

@@iosifderecichei3743- great question. I've read that the earlier version (the one shown here) without IC's was better. I couldn't tell any difference. I like the twin tape loops, LED meters and (effective) subsonic filter on the IC version. If you play tapes and a lotta LP's, than I'd go with the IC model for the bidirectional dubbing and that filter, it's excellent (15Hz@18dB/oct). I like both.

@@martyjewell5683 Thanks for your answer. I bought the IC version. So far I am very happy with it.

@@iosifderecichei3743- swell. If you play a lotta LP's, the subsonic filter will come in handy. I have it ON all the time. The IC version looks real neat in a dimly lit room with the snake-like line of LED's giving you a "graphic" image of the frequency response. The seven segment meters are cool too. You'll love it, had mine forty one years and still dig it. Congrats, my friend.
