they killed this with the atmosphere and the graphics, the problem with these games are that they get the being hunted feeling down to a T, but when it comes to the monster chasing you or finally appearing it's never executed well - they look either funny to look at or glitched out and not scary at all. so if this game manages to get that down as well it has a lot of promise
Counterpoint... if it doesn't scare you, you're just not fully immersed. And... with atmosphere this well done, I don't think that is the game's fault. A black figure by itself isn't very scary or unsettling, but a black figure that stalks you and disappears at will with no clear motive except to fuck with you, definitely is unsettling. A simple, glitchy black figure calls up something that isn't natural, isn't even supernatural, it's eldritch, something that goes beyond even the traditional human understanding of what a "monster" is. It's less knowable than something that looks and acts like a monster. I mean, Rogurt built a fanbase out of running from a distorted meme image of Obama. Obunga looks goofy by itself, but when properly contextualized with dark lighting and letting him glide silently at a sprinting pace toward you down a long hallway, and he's goddamn terrifying.

Great video, love how it was unedited, only problem felt like it was the audio, game was a bit too loud and you were a bit quieter but other than that it was fun
This game gives you a sense of nostalgia because everything seems familiar. You feel comfortable because you feel you’ve been there but you quickly become uncomfortable because you feel someone is there, watching, lurking, not in your sight. That’s why I’m hyped and waiting for this game because of how it makes you feel.
While the physics in this game is odd, the lighting is really well done and the sound combined with the atmosphere makes it so creepy and makes it feel like you've been there before.
