Appreciate the fishing videos. I travel to AZ to fish and videos like yours help us decide where to fish. Was at Roosevelt last week, going to Saguaro this Dec. Fish On!!!
That no bite hits that lake harder than anywhere. It’s like the fish just disappear to 80’. I either catch smaller ones like this or nothing then no bite until a small school of big ones all together. I even had enough confidence after landing 3 5lbers in a row to have wife take a cast on honey hole and she landed a 3.8. Really rely on electronics there for offshore.
The fishing at sag has been great lately caught 12 bass last Thursday in 3 hrs 12-3pm so not a great time frame to be out but they are biting as long as you can locate them.
Does it matter which way the current is flowing? Into the lake or back to canyon? Always heard if it flat or going back into canyon then the fishing isn’t good.. what do you think?
If it’s flowing back into Canyon the bite in the river is usually best. If it’s flowing downstream the river can be great too. The lake gets really good when it’s coming in from Canyon AND being released from Saguaro. If there’s no current at all stay out of the river. Those are the rules I live by there
If you ever wanna kick back with the fam and fry up some fat bluegills or crappie post up around Butcher Jones with a cooler wade waist deep in the water and cast out
Thank you for taking time to share your angling experiences and techniques with Valley anglers. Keep the videos coming as your time permits

It’s a finicky lake that’s for sure. No current = no bites.

Lake isn’t what it used to be but it’s nice to see some fish being caught
@@DanielEliasFishing I agree same thing with Canyon just a few years ago I could do close to 30lb bags on occasion sure miss those days.
@@brianlee677 it should come back eventually
We got an 8 two weeks ago I got a few 3 & 4lbers but I was looking for big fish
Looks like drop shots and bottom rigs are doing the trick. I'm taking my kayak tomorrow, with the gopros. See what I can do.
Good luck man!
Let's see your trip from Canyon next! Hehe 😁
Been thinking about heading over there when I can
Caught a 5lb largemouth there my PB yesterday first time catching anything at that lake lol
It can definitely be a tough lake to fish. Congrats on your PB 👊
Awesome Video!
Thank you!
